Description
===========

The Pre-War Midwest's favourite methamphetamine chewing gum is now in the Capital Wasteland! Though Fallout Tactics isn't generally considered canon a few elements stuck with me. In FOT Jet is replaced with Afterburner, a pre-War chewing gum packed with a powerful amphetamine.

I've included Afterburner as a slightly less addictive (though also slightly less potent) alternative to Jet, and just to add a little variety.


Features
========

Afterburner has been added to the appropriate loot and vendor lists but in order to maximise compatibility with other mods it does not yet exist 'in the wild' - you won't find a pack on a shop counter or under a raider's bed. It has a base value of 20 caps and gives you a 25 AP boost for four minutes and has an addiction chance of 0.15, but as it is a pre-War foodstuff it also imparts 1 Rad upon consumption. The effects of withdrawal should you become addicted are identical to Jet.

Afterburner is fully graphically realised. It uses a unique copy of the Bubblegum mesh for which I've created an original texture (since the only graphic of Afterburner in FOT is a bright red square of gum sitting on a foil wrapper), and I have included custom PIP-Boy icons and even a loading screen. The icons and texture aren't brilliant but they work, and I plan to improve them significantly in future versions once I've honed my skills in either GIMP or begging.

v1.0 (has been tested in-game to check availability, function, addiction, withdrawal and graphics)


Future
======

There may be some future developments for this mod:
- The inevitable bug fixes based on feedback and playtesting
- Upgraded and improved texture and icons
- Adding a few packets of Afterburner directly to parts of the Capital Wasteland such as shops and homes
- Fallout: New Vegas port
- Variants? Maybe a super-strong, super-addictive Afterburner Turbo or weaker but longer lasting Afterburner Cruise?

Compatibility

For maximum compatibility Afterburner has only been added to the following leveled item lists:

Although Afterburner's mesh is a duplicate of the existing Bubblegum one it is a unique .NIF so changes to one will not affect the other. I have included a single additional loading screen.
