Okay, I love the concept of the Prototype Medic Power Armor. A piece of armor that dispenses meds as you need them. Unfortunately, it's a bit limited in what it dispenses: Med-X, and that's it. Can't we get something a little more useful? Don't get me wrong, the ability to ignore crippled limbs is pretty nice, but a suit with onboard AI should be a bit more robust. Not only that, it should work for anybody who wears it, not just the Lone Wanderer, especially since in the base game you can't wear it until damn near the end of the game. I'm pretty sure your companions could benefit from a suit of Power Armor that keeps them combat ready.
Of course, as you might guess, I decided to address both of these issues.
THE CHANGES
First and foremost, I've given the Prototype Medic Power Armor the ability to dispense Stimpaks as well as Med-X. When the wearer's health drops to 33% or below it will apply a Stimpak. This is the same health point at which the suit will apply Med-X. To keep things balanced, suit-applied Stimpaks will not heal crippled limbs, and will only affect your health. The effects of the Stimpak are also gradual: rather than an instant boost of health, health is restored over a time period of 5 seconds (6 with the Fast Metabolism perk). It does scale with the wearer's Medicine skill.
Secondly, the Prototype Medic Power Armor has been altered so that it will apply its effects to anybody wearing it, not just the player. This means that Companions who wear the armor will be automatically healed when their health drops below 33% so long as they have stimpaks, along with the standard effects of suit-applied Med-X.
