I am not having a good time here. I have cleared everything but have not found the "key" to allow me to restore the reactor. Found the Adv. Radiation suit and stuff and looked thoroughly throughout the base but can not find the key needed. Also looked for the PDF but am not finding it. A little help please.
It is a very well designed base however it seems like there are a few one way passages that are missing external activators or have them hidden too well. The first is the overseer office the desk can only be opened from inside the passage accessed from the admin quarters but there does not appear to be any method of opening or closing the desk from inside the overseer office. Additionally the overseer passage to satcom has a hidden door which only opens as an exit and has no hidden activator on the outside. I can see this being done to prevent accidental access to the area before the quest is complete but the thing is you could easily have the switch disabled by it's id so it is not visible or interactable until the quest is completed. Additionally the access to the metro is also now a one way door with no switch or terminal on the outside. TBH its not anything game breaking and the mod is old enough I am not expecting any updates but it would be a nice thing to just fix some of the hidden passages so once the quest is completed they can be bidirectional.
Extremely well made base, in my opinion one of the best one out there, the design when u unlocked everything in the overseer room is Great , but also the hardest home to get unless u read a guide it demands thinking of the player not everything pointed out in a quest definitely worth the trouble getting. sad it's not work't on anymore So i made a easy to follow not unnecessary long pdf guide with pictures, most credits goes to Norinvaux , All i did when i finally figured it out was copy and paste his text on the forums and added some screenshots in right places so everyone can figure it out
Thank you so much for the seemingly essential .pdf-guide!! *kudos*
I was dead near on disabling this as alot of the landscape around Bethesda Offices was completely missing at first... Suspected this mod but instead of disabling it, I restored the v01 plug and skipped the update .esp which seems mainly to be for RealTime Settlers. Maya has never ever given any dialogue (and now thanks to you I know it's not essential) on locations other than Megaton. I have an abundance of spawn-mods so I wouldn't have been able to tell The Talon mercs from any of the raiders and fire-geckos I met (unless I'd console every creature, lol). I found the entrance, except the map marker reads something about Airbase and I couldn't interact with the junction box near the hidden/secret wall (not so secret I guess^^)... After reading your guide, I'm heading for the metro station to give this one last shot.
Finally! What a location, and what a polished mod this would've been with a proper quest or more "hand holding"! Some pop-up's triggered at the station-location and the map icon for the vault switched to it's proper name.
Never would've known where to go, or to find all these triggers and switches without your guide which I followed to the letter. Exactly what I needed, a very spacious location... Almost like a whole city underground <3
Im glad the guide helped someone :), and i agree this mod is excellent if the copyright was different i chare some of my own additions , as for the update u really should use it it contain som good stuff if u already got the vault updating it should not do a different except that u will notice some new upgrade options, the missing landscape around Bethesda Offices i would assume can not be because of this mod, at least i never had that problem and can't see anything in fo3edit or Geck that could have caused it
I'm sure the guide as long as it's available/hosted will help many more.
I read the complete update log and see that the update has way more in terms of tweaks to vendors, prices, navmeshes etc. beyond the soft support for RTS (which I use in New Vegas)... So that means the reason the terrain near Bethesda Offices was gone must be a conflict somewhere along the other 161 mods I'm running. I'm a complete noob with the GECK so thanks for clearing that up too! Going to install the update and check, and possibly manually sort this issue further down.
Edit; No issues updating mid-game and no issues with terrain when going against Loot's recommended load-order... All fine!
Oh, and Quartz thanks for literally the best Home/Base mod on the Nexus...even if the thank you is a little late..LoL I been playing this mod for near 11 years.
This quest is hard to follow because there is a lack of information. After I got into the main hanger room I looked in all rooms and I could not find what to do next. I also searched all lockers/dead guys and still did not know what to do. A actual quest with a marker would of been nice so I know what I need to do enxt
It is quite hard to do the quest but the biggest thing to look for are hidden switches they sometimes blend in with the objects sometimes not. SPOILER START!!!! Once your in the hanger go to the storage room that has enclave architecture the go into the room with the shelves go into sneak mode and find a hidden switch press it. It will reveal a room with paintings then look to your right you will see a safe open it take all stuff. Then head to the reactor look for a hidden switch on the side of the terminal it will reveal a fuse box insert the fuses and open the reactor chamber. You can find what to do next. END OF SPOILER!!!!!
I agree with Inazuma22. I even downloaded the FAQ and I simply cannot find the fuse switch in the Storage Room or the hidden switch in the reactor room. My tolerance for needless BS is limited. Without the FAQ it would be impossible to even begin to find the fuses. Why do you make this nearly impossible to solve? I guess you have to be obsessive\compulsive to write it and to spend so much time figuring this out. Fortunately I am not O/C. I give up. This is why I also gave up on Searching for Heaven. The dead author of that one must have been O/C also. Oh well, the pictures about it certainly look nice. I wish I could have found it. Next time you create one, please consider making it easier to find things. Remember the old game Myst? Yeah I gave it three days and deleted it for the same reason as this one.
