In principle I like the sound of this, and also like "realistic" mods...

But in practice, this means that you won't get access to a house until you've leveled up a few times, and that frustrating period of lugging stuff around and remembering where you have various caches will be longer than before.

Alternatively, have you tried ndcowdy's More 2 Megaton mod? It adds a lot of extra businesses to Megaton, including a distiillery that keeps Moariarity stocked (you can earn a few caps delivering booze to the bar), and an inn called Trader's Rest that you can rent rooms daily or weekly and lets you stash stuff.

This mod has the potential to be perfect, with a few tweaks.

I agree with fraien08's post as well - the failure rate should be tweaked so that failure doesn't automatically mean explosion.

Also, all of the Children becoming hostile doesn't feel realistic. Maybe some could, but I agree Cromwell and Mata attacking seems out of character. I like the idea of them leaving once the bomb is disarmed. the idea to allow players to disarm it at night in stealth to avoid a fight sounds perfect.

Too bad a good modder couldn't tweak this a bit to make it perfect.

I agree with fraien08's post. In particular with the failure rate and the necessity of a normal fail.

    Problems with this mod:
-I think that the chance of the bomb blowing up at skill 50 should be 50-80%, rather than (seemingly) 99.99999%. As a result of this, I haven't been able to test disarming the bomb stealthily, because there always seems to be somebody around when I do (finally) manage to disarm it.
-I think that there should be normal failure, where you fail to make any progress in disarming the bomb, but don't fail epically either. Though, normal failure should still bring the hostilities of the Children.
-I think that neither Confessor Cromwell nor Mother Maya should become hostile to the player upon disarming the bomb (perhaps by putting them in a Children of Atom II type faction), as this would fit the lore of those two being the ones most desiring peace. I imagine that instead of going berserk, those two, as well as more recently converted Children perhaps, would go on a pilgrimage to find another bomb to worship.

Fix these and I will endorse in a heartbeat.

@Socratatus, use a gun to 'calm' them. (just so i don't create any confusion, by 'gun to calm' i mean a mod added one that changes an hostile NPC to friendly status)

But yeah, i was thinking about the stealth option too as i read about the changes.

I actually like the sound of this. It annoyed me as well how I could just walk up to the bomb and disable or detonate it with basically no questions.

I also like the fact that the bomb could blow up on me- That`s what really scared me the first few times until I discovered it didn`t. A perfect chance missed. there should be a chance that it detonates on you. The fact that you`ll just Reload is not the point at all- It`s the sweat of trying NOT to let it blow up.

I wonder though, the description says people will attack me, but is there a way to do it so none of the religious lot notice? Like really, really stealthily in the middle of the night? Or are we going to have to kill someone every time we try to disarm it?

Anyway, will give this a shot.

You're really missing out by not trying FWE. It's really rather customizable and has ironsight support as well.

Wow this version has more downloads and endorsements than my original mod. Looks like FWE and FOOK2 are quite popular. Well i never considered installing FWE and FOOK2 crashed my game. My thanks to Leviathan for the update. And thank you all for commenting and endorsing.

Cool. I'm going to try this right away. I am using your other two mods, and they're great.
