The PS2 game's soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal and I'm happy to see some of it here.
If the series ever had an official soundtrack it should be the PS2 game and not *shudder* anime.

You're kidding right? The 1997 anime soundtrack was brilliant, and made by the same guy(Susumu Hirasawa) that did the soundtrack for the PS2 game.

agree with axxor, I am not familiar with the PS2's ost, but the anime's music was real nice and had that classy old-school (it was old back then) atmosphere.

I agree, "Guts theme" and the original version of "Forces" are the best berserk osts out there, all from the 1997 anime.

Don't forget that melodic theme with male singing... singing without uttering words. I don't know how it's called, but it is played through major parts of Guts life. Like the "For me a true friend must be my equal in all respects" moment, and many other heart-touching calm and emotional moments. This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZa0Yh6e7dw beautiful, powerful, heartbreaking, heartwarming, sad - all at once.

That song is simply called "Guts" or "Theme of Guts". Susumu Hirasawa is a genius and I'm glad the guys behind the anime didn't decide to choose some heavy metal theme for Guts since it doesn't fit his character, Guts is a tragic character and his lstory is a tragedy aswell, he needs something sad and beautiful as his theme song.

...You do realize that the PS2 game's soundtrack was created by the same person that made the anime soundtrack, right? Lay off the mushrooms for a bit, man. They're clouding your judgement.

I saw a mod for that but it's nowhere to be found now... Was maybe taken down for some reason?
Anyway, I found some files somewhere on YT or a forum can't recall, so I could upload them here. However, it would be good to know what became of the other mod, why was it taken down/why did it vanish? I don't dare to upload it till I know.

I have made a mod for this!
It's a 9:00 minute long theme, which contains DD2012's theme, DDDA's theme and Character Creation - in this order. Songs fit each other nicely and intertwine in a good way.High quality too.
      It's called:
Dragon's Dogma Thematic Title Music Mod - Main Menu Song Replacer!

Is there anyway to get the Berserk Armor sets back in? The swordsmans mantle was one of my favorite cloaks.

    How does this work exactly?
Does this have a title.arc file that features NO LOOP?
Can I use it with other songs (not Berserk) that I custom made myself and expect no loop at all ?
Or did you define the loop for Berserk's forces only?

I have a 11 minute long track I want to use as title music, but I can't find a title.arc file that doesn't have a loop. I also don't know how to edit such a file.

EDIT: If the TITLE.ARC file is designed for Berserk's theme only, could you PLEASE make a NEVER-LOOPING universal TITLE.ARC file - that's compatible with every music mod ?

EDIT 2: Just checked and this title.arc loops the song after a few minutes. Any chance of making a standalone optional downlaod with a NON-LOOPING title.arc? Or at least make it loop after 10 minutes?

Unfortunately the title.arc file cannot be "universal" because inside are stored some data about the music, like samples, channel (stereo, mono, 5.1) and the audio file size; I can make a non looping version and share the audio file property so you can try to make your own music

ehm lol i've totally wrong, i maded the universal version

Let me know if it is ok (tested with 3 audio file without problems)

For the LOOP version still required samples and file size! Not working with the " FF FF FF FF" sorry.

I read on the wiki that there were 2 armors in the game based of Griffith and Guts, but only on the PS3 version as the pc version couldn't get the licensing.

I was wondering if it was possible for anyone to mod them back in.

I have no idea how to modding works really but I was just curious if there was any hope for Berserk fans?

    Great one! Works flawless.
    Really nice song. Endorsed.

And +1 about what bladeye said. It would be interesting to have a non-looping Title.arc file - so it could work with any .OGG file we want. Don't know if that's possible but would be awesome.
