This is a great mod, it never made sense to me how some of those abilities needed to use focus instead of mana when they already used mana in previous games (like Firestorm).

I'm okay with the Mark of the Rift using focus, it's not a normal ability after all, but with other skills it seemed like they were purposely trying to make the game more tedious, locking cool abilities behind this awful mechanic that didn't make sense in regards to the lore.

Could you mod your mod to have it always use tier 3, with the trade-off as 2 minute cooldown and costing 70 stamina? Seem a fair trade off, imo.

it's not going to happen, but I second this notion.

I doubt it, I think jerrybullet left the modding community at the end of last year. But who knows, maybe one day he will return.

For some reason some people ( like you. ) have to do what jerrybullet mentioned in one of his other mods in the past ...

You probably haven't updated your version number. Go your game folder, where Dragon Age Inquisition is installed. One way to get there is to right-click on the game's shortcut icon (the one you click to launch the game), click on 'Properties' and then click on 'Open File Location.' When there, look for the 'Update' folder. Inside that folder is another folder called 'Patch.' Within the 'Patch' folder is a file called 'package.' Right-click that file and open it with Notepad. Where it says 'Version 11,' you change that to 'Version 12.' Save and close. You should now be able to run mods that require 'Patch 12.

That should in principal solve it for you.

Hey all! I wanted to give a big thank you to everyone that has supported me. It took some time, but I'm finally employed full-time. Unfortunately, I won't be making any more mods for DAI, but I do look forward to modding the next Dragon Age. Hope to see some of you then.

And to those of you having issues getting my mods to work, try the following:

Go your game folder, where Dragon Age Inquisition is installed. One way to get there is to right-click on the game's shortcut icon (the one you click to launch the game), click on 'Properties' and then click on 'Open File Location.' When there, look for the 'Update' folder. Inside that folder is another folder called 'Patch.' Within the 'Patch' folder is a file called 'package.' Right-click that file and open it with Notepad. Where it says 'Version 11,' you change that to 'Version 12.' Save and close. You should now be able to run mods that require 'Patch 12.'

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for an amazing mod jerry!! Quick question, in the description you've mentioned that there are mods out there that remove the cooldown from Mark of the Rift? Also if not, could you make a version which doesn't have a cooldown on Mark of the Rift but instead increases the mana cost of the spell?

If it's easier, could you describe the process used to create the mod and I'll do the changes myself

so you mentioned in the description you needed to make the tier random due to reasons the way the game handles everything, but is it also possible to just make a version of the mod that only has tier 3?

a little overpowered yes, but combined with the 120 second cooldown its quite fair I guess.

I'm also using the version that does not use the mark of the rift,
and I noticed that I'm pretty much always getting the tier 1 version, I did not extensively test it yet, but with haste, I casted it about 20 by now and its always the 6 second duration version (tier 1)

After a little bit of testing I found that the tier of the focus will depend on the amount of focus the inquisitor currently has (even for party members, the inquisitor's focus will be used as a reference for the tier they cast)

SO if the Inquisitor can get a full 3 piece Focus bar, this mod will then use the tier 3 of a Focus ability? (And instead of Focus, use the right amount of Mana / Stamina? )
