As mentioned below by Infinated, ensure hide file extensions is unchecked in control panel > appearance & personalization > folder options > uncheck hide extensions for known file types.
There is no need at all to extract the file once downloaded.
Just change the zip file extension to a dazip, it should work. You need to have hide file extensions unchecked in your control panel > appearance & personalization > folder options > uncheck hide extensions for known file types
This is a nice update, but it works badly with Templars of Fereldan and any attempt to replace Dalish light armour; there's a UTI conflict that prevents the armor (but not boots and gloves) from replacing the defaults (which presumably could also affect other armour). The only fix I could find was to unpack the ERF file, so that the individual UTIs can be either overwritten or removed.
I created a fix for Seeker's Circle (leliana starting amulet) showing up as Seeker[]s Circle you can download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B57qZ46S7P5LdmQ2eDJfWHF3dFU/view Just extract and put it in override folder
I had no problems with the dazip. The others might want to consider changing the extention on the zip-file to a dazip (by renaming it) and trying again.

Place it into the override folder
Should be at C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
