This worked for me back in the day but it doesn't any more. I might have a conflict or it may just not work with my updated version of the game. This isn't a perfect answer but I went with hiding the weapons entirely. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/2117
I have the problem that goes the other way around: I actually enjoy the effects on the weapons, especially lightning and fire, the weapon are too bleak without them, so I'd really want to have those effects back. But the problem is I installed Improved Atmosphere mod, previously removed the 'Weapon VFX Remover' from a folder, but still I have no visual effects in the game. Probably there is something more that affects visualization of runes, any suggestions what namely?
