Took a botched up patch from GOG (and subsequent reinstall) for me to notice that something was wrong with the installation. (Portraits worked but not face) Seems like I messed up the folder-structure, either those 16 endorsers already had a pre-existing characters/player folder or they were just using the portraits. Now installation works as described. Sorry about the trouble.
THanks for the files, but it doesn't work. I downloaded both versions but the outcome remains the same. I am using version 1.0.36.0, is that the problem?
Possible. Current version for the past two weeks is 1.0.81.0. I know there were some early modding problems but I didn't really keep track back then.
If you extracted with folders and into the right folder (D:OS\ Data\Public, not D:OS\Public or D:OS\ Data\ Data\Public) and didn't try to install the game to the standard windows programs folder and then install the mod without admin rights (user manipulations are virtualized in this folder), I guess it's time to update the game.
The portraits are uncompressed 8.8.8 to preserve the work I did with the diffuser tool, and without MIP maps to prevent the game from using the lower res versions for the small portrait "objects". The face textures are DXT5 with MIP maps.
For the portraits also have a look at my Portrait Pack
Hmm i installed it at the exact place mentioned in the description -The new toon portrait shows up -but the face no. 15 stays clown i have female armor by Mr esturk installed i checked the path a few times and im sure 100% the installation of the mod is correct any idea what im missing?
I had the same problem. Then I moved the two files [PL_F_Head_O_DM.dds] and [PL_F_Head_O_SM.dds] into the [Female armor by Mr.Esturk]'s [Player] folder under [...\Characters\Player]. It is working for me now.
Just uploaded my new (Portrait Pack) Includes 16 new portraits with red and blonde versions of the portraits from this mod and can be either installed as a mod (additional portraits) or just as the portraits.dds file (replacing existing portraits, compatible with the portraits from this mod)
All portraits in the game are in one huge image named portraits.dds. It's like a huge version of my "portrait replacement" image, that has place for 32x32 = 1024 portraits, right now only 411 portrait-slots are used. Changing an existing one is just a matter of copy & paste. To add a new portrait (i.e. #412), one needs to find the portrait's number in the game data.
Obviously modifying or adding more portraits will require some coordination effort. To make your mod compatible with mine, you need to include my portraits. (feel free to do so ) Adding new portraits will be even more tedious, since there will be additional conflicts regarding which mods use which portrait-slots.
The game only accepts dds files (which is a bad choice for 64 x 64 images IMO). There are DDS import/export filters for GIMP and Photoshop.

I used yours, edited with Photosop and save as DDS but all portraits becomes blurs as Obreck says. My screen resolution is 1680x1050 and probably I need the big version of your image?

Edit: Now it works, just because I posted a comment about it.
