Do not install this mod unless you like 1990s tiling textures everywhere. Run the game in 4K, it looks so much better vanilla. These look like something ripped from Quake. If for some reason like me you do decide to try this vastly old mod, zip up your textures folder before they become ruined.
The tiling textures are a vanilla issue that this mod attempts to remedy. Playing in 4K resolution does not change the textures, but there are modern texture mods for SotFS that massively improve the textures either through upscaling or editing the environmental geometry, which is by far the best solution. I am a big fan of the work by Fromsoftserve and I recommend looking at his mods if you play SotFS.
I highly recommend anyone looking at this to NOT install this mod. not only is it not compatable with scholar of the first sin, and it soft bans you apparently, but all of the screenshots were intentionally poorly taken.
Every single before and after uses a different angle, similar to how tv's at a tv store change each TV's settings to seem "different" in most cases, you can't actually see any changes, its just because the after screenshot is at a different angle that it seems "Better"
any and every graphics comparison worth their salt, always makes sure its showing you the same thing in before and after. here, they went out of their way to show diffrrent locations for the before and after shots, always at a considerably diffrent angle, usually either the before, or the after shot, either hideing or revealing something, so as to direct your focus on what your looking at.
This mod is stated to only be for the original Dark Souls 2, was made before SotFS came out, and has no issues with the original DS2, softbans or otherwise. The softban I warned about was due to using ReShade in SotFS. And I'll have you know I did not take the screenshots with the intention of obscuring or skewing anything. Dark Souls 2 doesn't save your camera position when exiting and re-entering the game, so I tried my best to get very similar angles but I was unable to. Unlike TV stores, I gain nothing from people downloading the mod. I advise for you not to assume the worst of people just if they aren't able to achieve what you expect from them.
Yeah I'd have to extract and locate all the textures all over again. Scholar is probably structured a bit differently too. Trust me, it takes a long time. I never got into Scholar for various reasons but if I ever get into playing some of the impressive-looking SotFS mods coming in the future, I may just get back into it enough to make an improved edition of the mod. No promises though! And thank you for your interest in my mod.
Sadly, this mod cannot be used in Scholar due to the textures all having different filenames. I would have to basically rebuild the mod from scratch to make it work with Scholar, and I haven't played Dark Souls 2 for a few years now and I doubt I'll get back into it again as much as I was back in 2014. If someone wishes to use my textures to re-create the mod in Scholar, however, they are perfectly welcome to.
I need a favor guys. GedoSato will not update for me no matter what I do. Can someone take their updated GedoSato folder, zip it, and upload it to dropbox or mediafire or something? I desperately want to use this mod but I cannot get a hold of the GedoSato creator and I need the updated version. If anyone could do this, I would be soo grateful! I am streaming SoTFS and I want it to look as good as possible. Thanks for the help guys! (I'll even give the 1st person that gives me the files 3months of Xplit Premium as an award)
I have a question is it normal that the 3mb texture called "82fb606c.dds" doesn't display in neither photoshop or imageviewer? I tried re-downloading the mod and I think that texture is corrupted unless its normal for it not to open? Thanks in advance. The reason I ask is because I tried using some skybox retextures found here and they don't work in game, the textures are actually missing in-game and they don't open either just like that one texture.
Any idea why it doesn't open for me? I'm using windows 8.1 update 1 and that texture won't open with Photoshop nor the default image-viewer. With Photoshop it says that it couldn't open because its not the appropriate type of document. All other textures are fine for me except for that in particular.
GeDoSaTo won't work for win 8, 8.1, or 10 unless you disable UEFI boot in the BIOS menu. UEFI prevents the .dll files from being injected due to "security reasons" if you need more help on how to disable your UEFI there is a wonderful and free tool called Google.

there are better mods out there. avoid.
Nevermind, you already answered this. Shame, but it is non-trivial work after all.
