I have a little problem with this. For some reason metal texture on the chest part is nothing like on your screens - it lacks that metal shine/gloss (looks just like recolor and nothing else). Should i change some settings in gedosato for it to shine like on screens?
In these screens I have the standard gedosato settings. Are you sure you have added all the textures? If the specular is missing it wouldnt shine, that texture is named 691920a4. Make sure you have that texture.
Problem solved itself - graphic options should be on "high" for some textures to be replaced/activated properly (mine was on "medium") But thx for your reply, always nice to see author's help. Thx once more for great mod!
Believe me, there is no additional file for the male cape, besides normal/bump maps and altering them has no effect whatsoever on the part of the cape that stays. I worked through all the dumps GeDoSaTo would make but there is absolutely no sight of a solution.
When dumping you just get the armor and cape files separately, there is no part of the cape in the armors texture. Also, the part of the cape that stays is very clearly untextured, so it DOES use the same texture file as the invisible part. I believe that part of the model simply does not allow for transparency, for whatever reason.
gladly try to fix the male version, however I dont think its possible, WyvernCutless seems to have tried quite a bit and I know for a fact that the cape texture is the same for both male and female, I found the texture name by downloading an another mod of the llewellyns cape and that mod was for males (and ofcourse also worked for females). that one didnt mess with the transparency so it didnt show any of my problems.
Then again I am quite new to this and you might have better luck and if you do please notify me so that I can fix it in this mod.
I assume that youre using a male character? my male character has the same problem. I dont know what causes it, maybe the male version has two cloak pieces, if so you might have to find the texture of this other cloak piece and replace it with an empty one. But really I dont know, Im pretty new to modding so Im unsure.
Just tested it and it seems that specific part of the model does not allow transparency at all. There is no additional texture when dumping on a male char and changing the bump/specular map doesn't help in any way. It seems removing the cape entirely is not possible on a male char. Same goes for the skirt, at least I could not make it transparent as well.
As far as my testing goes, yes. I'm not a pro modder, but I know my way around and I found no way to make the cloak disappear entirely for males. There is no separate texture, it uses the same one as the female model, however there seems to be a part of the model that simply won't allow transparency and therefore the cloak cannot be removed.
I like the overall look, but somehow the cap is still showing on the female character for the w/o cap version. Please take a look... Thank you for sharing
Oh, I'm sorry, that is probably my fault for poor word choice, the armor without the cape file is the armor without my torn cape, it will still have the normal cape. if you dont want any cape at all simply download the file named "cape" and erase everythingin the file in an image editor (like photoshop) and erase everything on the image and save it as a PNG, voila no cape! hope it helped.
Sorry, I don't have any photo-editing skill as well as editing programs in my computer. Oh, I see the typos...anyway, thank Note: NVM, I downloaded GIMP and opened the torn-cape image file then to use eraser the whole thing to get it...thank again
This is so badass I can't even... you've made an excellent job! I hate capes in DS2,for they just cover all of the armor from the back. While this torn piece of cloth looks so much better and not "out of place".
Thank you! and I completely agree about the cloaks, they look cool but only from the front and you see your character from the back most of the time. I thought this was a good option.
