NM figured out by myself looking at other texture mods.. Here is a cut/paste from another texture mod replacement... 1. Be sure to have DSfix (Special thanks to Durante!) 2. In DSfix.ini (Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Dark Souls Prepare ti Die Edition/DATA) put enableTextureOverride to 1. 3. Copy all the files into tex_override (DATA/dsfix/tex_override)
Oddly, I have an issue where the legs of the black knight armor set, and only the legs, retain the original texture. I'm not sure if here is the place to ask, or if you can help, but perhaps you know why this would happen? Additionally, I suppose I must also specify that the armor zip file contained 19 image files, I am unable to discern which file, if any, corresponds to the legs. Thank you for any assistance.
This is really odd because after almost 1000 downloads no one has reportet such an issue. I will do what I can to help you. Maybe your file was corrupted during the download. Have you tried downloading it again? Do you use any other mods related to the dark knight set? Meanwhile I will look over all the files once again and tell you if I found something missing. If I find the problem I will reupload the file
I have found the leg armor file(s?), and I have downloaded it multiple times on different days about a week apart. The leg armor files (or what i believe are the leg image files) are named "5ca5fa4e" and "40d53dc3" in the texture override folder. When I run my game it looks like this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/badlegs.png/ as you can see, all other textures, for all the weapons and other armor pieces work fine, only the legs are not showing. I am also using the ornstien's golden armor mod, if that is relevant. I understand if you couldn't help, as perhaps it is a problem with DSfix, but if you could I'd be very happy.
this is really strange, I checked all the files in the zip folder and everything is there. I will try to play with the textures some more and will tell you if I found out what the problem could be. Your ornstein mod cannot be the problem. Only if you would be using another black knight mod. which version of dsfix are you using?
I just ran another test: I re-downloaded the black knight armor file, I re-installed dsFix 2.01, verified the game cache on steam, and emptied the texture override folder of everything except the black knight armor and ran the game. same thing. All of the armor is amazing and black except the legs, which retain their original color.
I have good news I think. I have updated the armor set. besides an improved helmet I found another texture for the leggings. I dumped the textures again only wearing the black knight armor from the start. Then I found the new texure. It looked like silver knights leggings from the colour but I thought its impossible because I was only wearing the black set during texture dumping so I gave it a try. Well for me the leggings are as black as always and the silver leggings remained silver so I am sure it was another black knight leggings file. Anyway, try out the new version and tell me if this fixed your problem. Also check if the silver knights leggings are also still silver in your game
Unfortunately they still do not work, but its probably something on my side that is wrong. I've already wasted enough of your time, so I'll keep trying things by myself; if I ever find the solution, I'll be sure to post it here. Thank you for your help and hard work, the armor and weapons look great.
no i never found a solution. i have even recently reinstalled the game. donwloaded the latest version of my mod. never had the described problem so i dont know how to fix it.
Good work BigBoss. If I'm not mistaken, you're working on laptop. Kudos for that. I could suggest "De-Rust" atribute or "Darken" to your title but I see you allready changed it. Keep productive.
Haha, yeah. Its a cheap ubuntu laptop (300$) with intel graphics, its a wonder i can play at all, let alone work on mods xd i'm happy you like it, working on improving the sword at the the moment.
If I can make observation, and I see you're bussy with the curent mod, I had an idea where armor would look nicer if you could make carvings pop-up more out of black background. You could accomplish this by hilighting glow maps and add more silverish tone to normal textures to carvings. Hope you get my point. Also, you could make optional file of blades on weapons that keept metalic shine.
You can read my mind bro, I was trying to do that from the Start, but its hard to for me see how it will look in hd. Maybe i can send it to you for testing?
I have another sharpened and more glowing Version but on my low settings it looks strange, so for now i released the "safe" version. I have also a version of the sword with silverblade and black middle part, but its still not finished, the blood stains are hard to remove
You should make it as optional "Test" downloadable version so you can get feedback from more people. I'm a bit tight with free time at the moment, but will try to find some and test it in game.
