Updated with new minimap config options which were added with 2.0 patch. Some option names are kinda self explanatory, others are not so don't ask here what any of that option means plz, I know as much as you do.

Use it only if you want to experiment with the new minimap settings, otherwise patch 2.0 does a pretty good job with a new minimap zoom.

main file says experimental use at own risk. May I ask what is risky about it? And, if this version isn't already, when a full release of the mod update will be released?

No other releases are planned here, as for the risks the only thing I'm aware of is that too high zoom values can cause some issues or crashes (if you go over 200 for example)

Ah, I see. Thank you. It just sounded like a common snapshot/beta warning at first.

I have one more question. I am a bit overwelmed by the amount of sliders. Which slider to I have to adjust and in which direction for "when on foot" and "when on vehicle"?

There's no just on foot slider as the minimap uses all those those values, slider name shows the condition where its used like Interior, Vehicle etc.

I was worried you would say that. I assume if it would be that simeple, there wouldn't have bin so many sliders in the first place.
Tbh, the names are just confusing to me. For example what is the min and max for all values and so on.

But maybe I don't need to understand all of it. What would I have to do to zoom out ~10% everything besides when being inside somewhere, which I would want to keep at the current zoom level.
Is it like everything that doesn't say "interior" simply 10 points to the left or right or so?

Yeah something like that. I didn't invent those names, just used variable names from the minimap itself which devs used so can't give you too many highlights here. Min/max I think are used for dynamic zoom feature mostly

In-World Navigation Can you do something similar like this (in addition to this mod if possible)? That mod i linked is crashing a lot unfortunately.

Thanks a lot for updating and keeping us posted on the 2.0 progress!

Would you be able to include an option to disable minimap rotation in this whenever you'll find the time?

Shame to hear but that makes sense.  How hard would it be to make a mod that disables the 'minimap de-centers while moving fast in cars' that was introduced with the minimap zoom in 2.0?

2.0 mostly has the same changes so this mod is kinda obsolete now. I can add configurable zoom values maybe but patch implemented zoom logic more or less in a better way than this mod did

thanks a lot for this mod. it works, but i think the zooming out is still not enough when speeding. i was plying with the settings, and even 200 (which is stated to be the maximum) i find it not enough. Any way to reduce the zoom more and see more map?
     thanks

I wouldn't recommend that as higher zoom values can make the game unstable

the tiny compass next to the map seems to be a bit misplaced with this mod installed. not sure if there is an option to tweak the position of the compass or some other mod is messing with it

I'm getting this error when trying to run the game after having installed the mod and its dependencies. Using Vortex on GOG version 1.61.

Tried it twice now with this result and uninstalling all mods doesn't resolve the problem, so I resorted to uninstalling the game and deleting the install directory, because I don't know what remaining file is causing the problem. It's probably pretty easy to restore it to vanilla, but I don't know how and I'm new to modding, especially using a mod manager like Vortex.

So any thoughts of what I can try to get this working?

it's not related to this mod, make sure that you have all the requirements and don't have any outdated mods here Cyberpunk 2077\red4ext\plugins\

Tried it one more time with a fresh install. No mods at all. Installed in this order and trying to launch the game after each, using Vortex.
      RED4ext <--- OK
      redscript <--- OK
      mod_settings.zip <--- Error above
Uninstalled it and to my surprise the game was able to launch again.
      input_loader.zip <--- OK
      ArchiveXL <--- OK
Tried mod_settings.zip again and get the error.
... and now when I uninstall it, the game continues to throw the error.

I also tried to manually installing mod_settings.zip, but there was no difference in behavior.

Okay, so I'll ask over at mod_settings.zip to see what could be the problem. Thanks!

Mod settings has been known to negatively affect other mods and causes many bugs/crashes. That's why i dont use any mod that needs Mod Settings.

BEWARE Mod still works BUT do not set too big values for driving or game will crash upon leaving vehicle.

If you want larger minimap make sure to use dynamic minimap and to slow down/stop before exiting vehicle) I have min/max distance 100/200 and min/max speed 20/60 - will propably adjust.

I did not found information about this so I written it here... Also it could be the reason behind crashes people describe in bugs section... Hope it would be pinned or mentioned by author.

    Background:
I set driving minimap to static 200 and about hour later my game started crashing whenever i left vehicle or bike (I did not use vehicle for hour).
coincidentally I was adding driving mods just before crashing began and spent whole weekend figuring it out, just to realize its this mod... Such a stupid mistake :D

BTW. works with Better Bike Overhaul, Better Vehicle Overhaul and Better Camera Auto (These mods together are best combination I could find)

I have a big proble with Let There Be Flight Mod. After install the LTBF mod, This mod doesn't work.

Maybe there is a mod that is in conflict, for that you would have to see the content of the log files to find out or test with only this mod then add the others one by one.

For my part I tested the latest version of the mod (plus the FR translation mod), and everything worked.
      What mods do you have?

Can confirm that it's Let There Be Flight that this conflicts with. When 1.61 dropped, I did a clean install and reinstalled every mod I use (over 200) and everything was working perfectly. Once the update for Let There Be Flight finally dropped, I installed it and now the minimap no longer zooms out while driving as well as the roads in the nearby area disappear from the minimap when I enter or exit a vehicle. Uninstalled Let The Be Flight and the issues disappeared.

Hello, I would like to make a modification suggestion for the mod.
Modification I made on the mod to test and which I think may be of interest to other people.

The maximum zoom out that is possible with the mod is "200" but that wasn't enough when I'm in the vehicle and at full speed to have time to see a turn coming. Before, I was using the "Better Minimap" mod and with its "medium" configuration the zoom out was bigger and was fine but since this mod is no longer functional (at least completely, indeed, even if the zoom change is ok, the route markers are no longer displayed) moreover I find your mod more complete with the change of zoom depending on the case or the speed.

First of all, I think I understand why you chose the value of 200 as the maximum zoom, because beyond that the roads are not completely displayed and are loaded as you go (but the route markers are displayed in full, this I'm looking for).

So I decided to modify several values ??in the mod in order to obtain a better possible choice for who would like a bigger zoom and I would like to propose it so that it can be added.I didn't go beyond "300" because the game won't display more routes anyway.
Here are the commented changes I made below:

    File: r6\scripts\ImprovedMinimapZoom\config.reds

line 77: Maximum value of the "Mod-IMZ-Peek-Hotkey" of the keyboard shortcut
    @runtimeProperty("ModSettings.max", "300")
line 109: Maximum value of "Mod-IMZ-Min-Zoom" in car at min speed
(modified only so that the max values ??are identical with line 129)
    @runtimeProperty("ModSettings.max", "300")
line 129: Maximum value of "Mod-IMZ-Max-Zoom" in car at maximum speed
    @runtimeProperty("ModSettings.max", "300")
You can see the modified file here:
