I tried looking up how this works and it is crazy confusing, isn't there some other way to do it that doesn't require an engineering degree. Can't we just replace a file with a modified one and save an hour or more of breaking the game? I love the idea but am just too afraid of how complicated this is. Maybe someday when this is no longer a proof of concept but an actual playable mod then I'll give it a try but not as it is unless you can make the installation less difficult, Sorry.

it's not difficult, it's just outdated. they changed the way things keep track of corpse lifetime in the main file and the creator hasn't updated the mod yet.
but mostly, when it IS updated, you can just put the file \SteamLibrary (wherever this might me)\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\ Data\Config (after installing the requirement) and run the bat/cs file.
but don't do it now. not until the mod is updated.

edit: for some reason, adding a \ followed by a capital D makes it look like a grin... just... WHY? xD
so remove the space in the address.
or just right click your game in your steam library, properties, local files, browse local files, open Data, then open Config and copy it in there.
alternatively, make a backup of the file and edit the original manually by searching for TimeStayAfterDeath... there's a few results, so be careful not to edit the wrong ones. and don't be afraid of messing it up, since you kept that backup. (right?)
