    The old LW customizations thread got lost, so here's a new one. This is for modders to post links to promote your work to those who want to customize their Long War experience beyond what the base mod is able to provide.

    Great mod.
    Still the best for me, i made different changes to dgc.ini to make it more customized and interesting, also figured how to add perks to items via iAlloys= values, which is also cool i do some minor changes in order to keep the balance. Also manually aded more ranks with experince as soldier reach level i add with devconsole addtional perk from corporal then 1 more from  gunnery sergant perks for high experience levels. Overally, as im not modder, cant change much it still the same game which i love. 
    Lacks some visual improvement as for me. szmind did some really good job with his minimods , allowing to see percentages to hit on icons, shadowstep with sprinter, maps icon pictures; but i had some strange experience after installing minimods, alien behaviour changed and they started to overwatch and suppress much more compared to my regular LW which made game easier. Could not fix it so reinstalled the game. 

    There many speculations on some abusive tactics, such as AI cant handle long range sniper shot, i rarely use them to make game more interesting.I play  with  SKYRANGER_CAPACITY=7 but snipers are allowed to use only tier 3 (gauss) and 5(plasma) sniper rifles,  otherwise only strike rifles to make combat more close quaters and intense. Thanks  for this mod and all the great job you did. Is there any tutorial i can find on creating my own mode, does it require high programming skills?

    Is it possible to make a static keybind for steady aim, like you can reload, hunker, and overwatch?

    When I looked at a 67 day crafting time for Chem Grenades, I knew something was off.
    Despite being extremely early tech, it asks for 40 engineers.
    Then I realized the game asks for 15 Thin Man corpses on top of that, for, reasons.

    Honestly, extracting the smelly gas from a rotten corpse and putting it into a plastic bottle is not on par with crafting highly advanced space crafts. That said, I can't even imagine how would 40 engineer work on the same single plastic bottle at the same time.

    It must be the worst excuse for slacking off during work. Imagine you walking into a room, literally full of engineers, sitting on chairs, desks, on the top of the cabinets, hanging from the ceiling. You ask Shen:
    - What are you doing here!?
    - Erm, we are working.
    - Working on what?
    - Chem grenades, it's that top priority job you asked from us.
    - Yes, all 40 of you.
    - Yes, of course.
    - On one single plastic bottle filled with alien puke.
    - It's a very difficult task.
    - At least tell me how long is it going to take.
    - 67 days.
    (Okay, this is exaggerated, it takes 67 days to craft with 15 engineers, the normal amount of people you have at your disposal when this grenade shows up in your Workshop)
    - We are all doomed, Shen. Thanks to your men, Earth is sure to fall under the hordes of mechanized aliens.
    - Thanks, commander.
    In the meantime, Bradford is like: "I'm sorry commander, they are the best of the rest."

    I've found how to edit the cash, elerium, meld and alloy cost for Chem Grenades, all the stuff I don't need. On the other hand I can't find where do the ini files contain the number of corpses required for crafting them.
    I mean, I've got dozens of these corpses, but it would be nice to regulate the number of corpses required like the other grenade requires only 1 corpse to craft.

    hi, i just want to remove the item "Alien trophy" from the item selection list, is there a way to do this? i've comment all the lines where i saw the item in defaultgamecore.ini but nothing happens. thanks

    Hi guys,

    I did a sort of update to LW (kinda like my own version of LW 1.1) where I fixed/balanced a lot of the issues and problems I had with LW 1.0

    The full description is at the above link. It's intended to play like LW 1.0 with some small changes.

    Here is a quick summary of the goals though:

    1) Fix the late game: Eliminate the reverse difficulty curve so it doesn't trivialize aspects of the game, reduce mission load
    2) Make easier difficulties easier
    3) Discourage abusive strategies (i.e. shadow device stacking)
    4) Improve choices on the perk tree (so more perk choices are reasonable and competitive choices)
    5) Improve underused or underpowered items
    6) Make parts of the game less frustrating (e.g. Psi training, arcthrower capturing) while still preserving difficulty
    7) Stay relatively close to the gameplay of LW 1.0

    If you love LW 1.0 I think you'll love LW Rebalance as well. Hope you enjoy.

    Although i bow to the work that has been done on this, is there any way i can use the LW improvements on gameplay (difficulty, enemy strategy, etc) but remove all the changes that were made on soldier customization ? The new classes, weapons, gears, all that fuzz ?
    I like simplicity.

    Is there a way to crank up the exp of the aircraft pilots?
    I'm getting all my aircraft slaugtered avery single time a ufo appear, even small ufo keep devastating me fleet and is quite dispendious ç_ç

    I apologize if you do not notice in the subject line. Is it possible to unlock the shivs color? Were soldiers of color is always every profession. A machine can not, although in the past I have seen such a modification on Enemy Unknown.
    And to release version would be great to slightly change color, some of the classes on the map is not visually distinguish. Engineer for example.

      there have been some reskins for the shivs, but from what i know the only thing that the community has managed to do other than that, is changing size of the shivs.. it can be done with this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/607/?
