"This is the power of Sparda..."

I don't know what life decisions led me to do this, but I always wanted the DMC crew in Xcom. And for the first time in his life, our boy got picked first, but like, double. Cause we have human form Vergil for human troopers, and (S)DT (+ restored Urizen) Vergil for MECs!

I used lines from the following games:
  • Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition
  • Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition
  • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
  • Devil May Cry 5 (and the Vergil DLC for pc!)
And, the little bonus...
  • Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid
Cause yeah, Dan gave that version of the Quantum Ranger several references to Vergil.

And yeah, for DT Vergil I used Urizen's lines. Long ago I came across a video that stated that Urizen was not only voiced by Dan Southworth himself (yet another ""subtle"" on Vergil's return), but that it was fairly possible to kinda undistort his voice to kinda make him sound like human Vergil.
This was the process that I followed to mix Urizen's lines with the rest of the Devil Trigger sounding ones:
I sped up Urizen's lines by 20%. From those sped up files, I made 2 independant ones. The first one, consists of a DT sounding filter that I found, basically a 50hz comb filter. The second one, is a MEC-sounding filter that was put together thanks to carloscristero, so go check his stuff! With this MECha-filtered file, I also made a new one, which was basically the 50hz comb filter. After that, I mixed all the previous 4 files. Yeah, I mashed together the original +20% speed file, the 50hz one, the MECha filtered one, and the 50hz MECha filtered one.
There's an audible difference between how the Urizen lines sound next to DT Vergil's ones...hell, even the lines from DMC 3 sound diff from the rest of the games cause of the audio quality of the game, and because Dan recorded those lines while going through a cold, as legend says, but I kept them in cause...only we Vergil fangirls would use this vp, so we're willing to make sacrifices just for extra coolness!

Now, be warned, you're gonna need to be creative about the "context" of some of the lines I used. There ARE mentions about him being a Son of Sparda and such, and some other lines I had to stretch the meaning of to have them fit in.

As much as he sounds good for a sniper, there is support for every class. For DT Vergil...have him as a Jäger, trust me, you want him to wreck an entire pod per turn ;)

Are you an Xcom 2 player? Man, PsyCHo has you covered!

Now available for pilots!

Installation for Long War users:

1) To install...go to XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\CookedPCConsole, create a folder named "Voice" if you need it, and place the first folder that came inside the .rar file.

2) Then go to XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\Config, open DefaultContent, then press ctrl + f / ctrl + b (one of 'em should work), and search for eCharVoice_FemaleBlueshirt1. You'll end up with a highlighted line that will look a little bit like this: VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_FemaleBlueshirt1,ArchetypeName="Voice_BSFVoice1.BSFVoice1").

3) Below it (or anywhere around the voicepacks section for that matter), you gotta place this voicepack's specific config line, here, let me show you how I currently have it:

; Vergil (RUBY)
VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_MaleSoldier2,Language=16,ArchetypeName="MaleVoice66_Canadian.Voice_MaleVoice66_Canadian")

; Devil Trigger Vergil (MEC) (RUBY)
VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_MaleMec2,Language=15,ArchetypeName="MECMaleVoice2_Canadian.Voice_MECMaleVoice2_Canadian")

Notes: see that "Language=X" part? Change it to whatever you see fit. From 0 to 6 it's the vanilla EW languages (English, Italian, French, Spanish, you know the drill).

If you, for example, want to have this vp in the British English section, you gotta change it into Language=7. Then you gotta change the "Voice_Male/FemaleSoldierX" into whatever you need. If you already have 3 male voices for British English, and you want to add another one, you'll have to have the new one as "Voice_MaleSoldier4,Language=7". Otherwise, if you have 2 that look the same there, one will "override" the other, and the game will detect one of them, instead of both. You gotta tidy up up them config lines if you download a buncha vps, ya' know!

You can have up to 9 voices in each "Language" for males, but only up to 6 with females, and 2 with MECs. If you go beyond that, the game will start overriding some of them, and you won't be able to use a couple of 'em. You just gotta try and label them as you see fit!

If the installation guide didn't made any sense to you, follow this guide:

Remember to paste this voicepack's specific config line!
Big thanks to ObelixDk for his lovely, lovely guide.

Installation for Vanilla EW users: check any of MJpoland's voicepacks for a guide, as I really, really don't know what to do with Vanilla EW!
