Ultimate Alex Jones Voice Pack

About this mod

Alex Jones comes to XCOM 1 with a massive voice pack that features 3000 lines of dialogue, with many more lines for most events when compared to vanilla packs, especially for common actions. For example, killing an enemy has 570+ unique audible reactions up from vanilla 15, moving has 380+ up from 26 and so on. No random filler samples used; all voice samples have been selected or edited for context within the events that they're used in.

Where necessary, I've also selected and clipped the audio appropriately to avoid the XCOM 1 CTD issue with voice samples that are too long.

Recommended class is scout.

Vanilla Note

This mod was designed for use in Long War. The pack will work in vanilla but requires extra fiddling with certain game files in order to make it work. See one of MJPoland's many vanilla-compatible voice mods for a guide on how to install voice packs in vanilla.

Long War Install Instructions

1) Extract the contents of the archive to "XCOM Enemy Within\XEW\XComGame\CookedPCConsole\Voice"

Note that if the voice folder doesn't exist, create it.

2) Open DefaultContent.ini in "XCOM Enemy Within\XEW\XcomGame\Config\"

3) Go to the last VoicePackageInfo entry under [XComGame.XComContentManager] and add the following two lines under it :

; Ultimate Alex Jones
VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_MaleSoldier5,Language=30,ArchetypeName="MaleVoice2_AJ.Voice_MaleVoice2_AJ")

Search the file to ensure only this voice pack uses "MaleSoldier5,Language=30". If there's a conflict, change the "MaleSoldier#" line to a number that isn't being used.

Ingame placement of the voice depends on your localisation and factors such as other voice mods, but you'll usually find it amongst the 'unassigned' voice packs in the unit customization screen.
