This is a mod that changes LongWar back to vanilla Keeping the 4 Squad to 6 Max, It also changes the gameplay to better suit 4 to 6 Squad, With harder Aliens but less of them. UPDATED

Permissions and credits
UPDATED FOR LONGWAR F-3 , (ALIENS HAVE  BONUS 10+ AIM WITH +1 HP BOOST)
COVERS HAVE BEEN CHANGED BACK TO NORMAL VALUES equal to vanilla.


YOU MUST ENABLE "QUICK AND DIRTY" OPTION IN SECOND WAVE. WITHOUT THIS OPTION THE GAME WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY!

DW Option is NOW 25% of LongWar, DW Option makes the game more fit with less months to play the game, Please include DW option to balance the gameplay, Without this option the game will feel like an endless gameplay with the same characters.

What does this mod do?

It basically creates a HARDCORE balance system of 4 to 6 squad members MAX without becoming too easy and too unfair.

Reason?

I felt that Longwar was good but it needed to keep the 4 to 6 man squad, Over time after constant missions and soldiers, the game just feels kinda boring. After many months of playing in game, You will gain many soldiers of different types and you will forget who is who and who cares. but now with the new option in second wave " QUICK AND DIRTY" , I can finally create my mod as its FINAL VERSION and finally balanced with care. This is a mod for those who feel like they want to keep playing xcom LongWar , just without the "Long" "War".

Changes

Squad and fatigue and Officer Ranks

-Starting Squad is 4 and a Max to 6 Just like in vanilla
-Starting soldiers are 20 instead of 40
-Based Fatigue has been cut in half
- Officer Ranks cut in Half
- Recover days will stay the same because Long-War adds many bonuses to Recover such as Medic Skill abilities and MELD Genes

although small changes, this will make your soldiers "important" again. You will care for your soldiers as you did in vanilla. This is no longer a Army but instead a Elite Squad like in vanilla. Fatigue and Officer Ranks are less demanding now as you will be using a smaller squad.

Aliens

Because of Second Wave Option "QUICK AND DIRTY" most missions will have very little aliens like in vanilla, of course I can't just leave it at LongWar Stats because they were met to be played with bigger squads. You will bascially mow them down like bugs and aliens will become a "joke". This mod is to change the players understanding of the aliens. They will be serious like in vanilla and you will grind your teeth to dust when you see that sectoid. It is also important to note that "Quick and Dirty" can be a little funky sometimes only given 5-7 aliens in a mission, Although the 10+ Aim might seem too much , its actually very balanced just like in vanilla. In vanilla and specially in Impossible difficulty, Sectoids and most aliens had similar stats to Xcom Rookies, In LongWar they were nerfed so much because there was MORE of them in every mission. Now that there is LESS in every mission, they need those old Vanilla Stats again which is the +10 Aim , Impossible difficulty WILL FEEL LIKE VANILLA IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY and yet still not as hard as vanilla. In LongWar you start with so many items and tactics, These changes are needed to balance the aliens to feel like a real threat to Xcom. +1 hp was added to support missions with fewer aliens since Xcom soldiers have more HP then vanilla with Items. All these buffs might seem unfair but remember you are fighting an average of 6-12 aliens not 16-20 anymore.


Color Armor

I've changed the starting color armor to its yellow color just like in Vanilla, When a soldier is promoted, they will be given a light blue color. I've added this change because you will feel for your soldiers now and will probably want to start changing them to give them a little taste.

Overall Gameplay Effects

You will plan your missions now, No Longer will you feel that a mission is "whatever" or "oh look another mission" You will say " Damit I was so close to the end of the month!!". PLAN YOUR ATTACKS AND MISSIONS. Like in Vanilla Xcom, there is no room for mistakes or defeat. Use ur items carefully and choose the ones that will best suit you in this mission. An average Mission will have 7-12 aliens, So its mostly 4-6 Soldiers Vs 7-12 Aliens. Sometimes in rare situations will you have 5 Aliens Only.

~ TIPS

DON"T ALERT all the aliens on the map at once,
USE Hunker Down More and Steady Aim more often.
Have a balanced Team, Rocket,Sniper,Shotgun, Etc
Use Items that will benefit the mission NOT THE SOLDIER.
Flashes and Smokes are so important now, A single flash on a group of enemies can save your mission !
Remember You are a squad , not an army, can't afford to use rookies as meatbags anymore.
Prepare your soldiers for every mission, It might be their last.
