About this mod

Returns resource yields to pre-4.0 values and rebalances sector density.

Permissions and credits
This mod is intended to reverse the extreme scarcity introduced in Update 4.00 without unbalancing the game. The most significant changes, therefore, are to ore and silicon yields, but gasses and crystals have also been adjusted.

Ore and silicon yields have been reset to 3.x values, and the new yield levels introduced with Update 4.00 adjusted accordingly. Hydrogen and helium yields have been adjusted according to the effective increase from Update 4.00, but otherwise are left as-is. Crystal rarity distribution has also been reset, and although the cooldowns introduced with Update 4.00 have been retained, those times have been adjusted.

Sectors have had overall yield levels adjusted, so that all AI factions ought to have sources of medium or better resources available to them. Asteroid densities have been adjusted in Argon Prime, the Asteroid Belt, Gaian Prophecy, and Segaris. Ore and silicon asteroids of size XS have been removed from all sectors.

Installation

Extract the files to the game's extensions directory.

Compatibility

This mod uses attribute replacements almost exclusively, so it should be compatible with any mods not directly changing the same values. The changes introduced should function both in an existing save and a new game. There is also a version without the changes to crystals, if needed for compatibility with other mods.

Known Issues

Resource yield numbers reported by sector info and resource probes don't appear to have changed, so they may or may not be accurate. Any feedback in this regard would be appreciated.
Update (2021-04-22): It appears that in a new game the resource numbers are correct. An existing save may take some time to adjust.

Shoutouts

Thanks to the #x4_modding channel of the Egosoft Discord server for all of their help; Arronicus, DeadAir, and DocAce in particular.

And, of course, thanks to EgoSoft for making this game in the first place.
