Gamestarts with Stations

This mod provides 5 additional gamestarts to the game. In each of these gamestarts the player already owns a factory station, so you can get to making real money a lot faster than before. Enjoy!

Update 2024:
After coming back to X4 after more than 3 years, I found that this mod would be easier to fix using the new Custom Game Editor provided by Egosoft. A lot easier than messing with XML files and finding out why the mod stopped working in the first place. Some stuff is no longer available this way, like placing hostile actors or stations, but most of the stuff the mod once did can still be done. So it's now much less of a mod - just a collection of shared Custom Games.

To use, unpack the downloaded file and place the gamestarts within in Documents/Egosoft/X4/.../customgamestart/. Then start via the import function in the Custom Game Editor.

The Abandoned Spy:
You don't know what went wrong exactly - only that the security forces started shooting. You were sent by the Argon Intelligence Service to steal the Holy Order's Capital Ship Blueprints - and succeeded. But then all hell broke loose. With the path back to Argon Space blocked by the enemy you fled toward Teladi Space - the Order close on your heels.
Now you are stuck there in your damaged ship and the Argon had to renounce all knowledge of your actions, strip you of your rank and declare you a smuggler, thief and pirate. While they confiscated all your assets to keep their story believable, they didn't leave you completely alone. Your former superiors got their Teladi Allies to discreetly support you - hoping this would help them deny their involvement with you.
What will you do now? Will you return to Argon Space and work your way up again - or choose a different path?

The Rising Smuggler:

Eager to escape the poverty of your home planet's slums, you hired as service crew on the ship of a shady Teladi captain. Now, years of smuggling, theft and outright piracy later, you take your hard earned if largely ill gotten credits and strike out on your own. Possibly, you took your old bosses' ships as well. And his crew. And also his station. And maybe he also got stabbed in the process.
Smuggling is a tough business however, and soon you will have to prove to your new outfit that you have what it takes.

The Mercenary Leader:
You fought for the Antigone Republic during it's struggles when the jump gates shut down. You fought for the Republic when the gates reopened - realigned and connected to new, dangerous sectors of space. And you fought for the Republic when the Paranid sect of the Holy Order invaded. The latest in a long chain of bloody conflicts - for you and your men it's just another period of assured paychecks. Mercenary work pays well if you manage to survive - and your little company has done well for itself so far.
War is brewing. Time to get to work.

The Robbed Tycoon:
In your younger years, you were an extremely successful trader and were able to build an enormous factory that made you heaps of credits. Spoiled by success, you put the factory's management into the hands of a childhood friend and simply enjoyed the money your company brought in. It all stopped suddenly when your account went dry.
It took you a few days to realize this wasn't just some mistake. The money was really gone. Your old friend was gone, too. When you finally got your old station on comms you heard that most of your workers left the company months ago because nobody paid them anymore. Finally you understood: Your dear old friend took all you had an ran! Left with no other choice, you returned to your old life. It seems that if you want something done properly, you have to do it yourself.

The War Profiteer:
There is always money to made in a war. And there is always going to be another
war, too. You run one of the largest ship tech companies in the known
universe - and providing materials to the ever-hungry war machine of the
Argon Federation has made you very, very wealthy. Having gained
everything a businesswoman could possibly gain, however, left you bored.
Spending money on useless little luxuries could only entertain you so
long ...
Craving excitement, you one day decided to try something new: You traveled to Argon Prime and bought yourself a combat ship,
ready to explore the other side of your company's business.

2.1: The Terran Intervention Fleet:
After working with the brilliant rogue Boron scientist Boso Ta to develop a new generation of terraforming technology for the struggling Segaris Pioneers, the Terran Protectorate wanted to use his talents for their own gains, too. Boso suggested an experiment with yet unheard of teleportation technology - powerful enough to transport whole space stations everywhere in the gate network in the blink of an eye! As a proof of concept, the Protectorate wanted to bring three cutting edge terran stations from Sol to Getsu Fune as a show of strength to the Argon of the Antigone Republic. It would leave no doubt that this strategically important sector was part of the Protectorate's sphere of influence.
After gathering staggering amounts of resources, the experiment could finally commence. Yet it all went horribly wrong! Instead of appearing throughout Getsu Fune, the stations were transported to Savage Spur instead - deep withing Xenon space and cut off from all support. Now the lives of thousands of Terrans were in danger - not to mention the scientist Boso Ta himself. In response, the Terran Intervention Corps quickly mustered a fleet. Considering your past work with Boso Ta and your high standing in the Protectorate, you were chosen to lead those forces, to break thorugh the enemy lines and stave off the rapidly worsening Xenon attacks.
In the long run, you would likely have two options: either gathering enough resources to repeat the experiment - hoping the result would not be even worse this time, or you could try to actually destroy the Xenon in Savage Spur and claim the sector for yourself and the Terran Protectorate.
