Alright door kickers, into the breach! This mod introduces station boarding for all your hostile takeover needs!

For X4 Version 7.50.

Happy to announce the 1st version of my station boarding mod! This mod will add 2 new additional features via two new additional UI buttons when right clicking a station with ships selected! See below for further details!
This initial version will be pretty bare bones, hence the nickname. I will continue to flesh out things in the script and features as my skill level progresses, but this is where I am at currently. All feedback is welcome.

**Features (as of Ver. 1):**
- Two new UI buttons: Attempt Station Board and Assess Station Defenses
- Ability to board stations that are not under player control and attempt to take them. (takes 4 minutes from button click ---> outcome)
- Ability to "spy" on stations prior to boarding to gain intel on how well defended it is. (takes 4 minutes from button click ---> intel)

UPDATE (5-14-2025)

**Known Issue:**
- Station Plot menu will close when attempting to adjust or buy license for plot post capture. To work around this, please see pinned comment in "Post Section", also see know issue bug report. 5.14.2025 update, issue narrowed down to when used in conjunction with SWI. Issue does not happen on vanilla game.

**Notes:**
- There is currently no UI menu for this mod. It is on my list for the future once I learn some more LUA stuff.
- No boarding pods will be launched, also on my list of things to work out for future releases.
- Marine tiers play NO role in this initial release. I want to get the UI menu done prior to implementing tiers since the player will then be able to actively decide how many of each marine to send.
- More script additions/changes will be made in future versions to better flesh it out as I continue to learn.
- There are 2 files available: 1 balanced to SWI and 1 balanced to VRO/Vanilla

**Quick Guide:**
- In order to board a station, you must ensure your ship(s) have marines on board AND are within 20km of the station in question.  If you have 4 ships selected and only 3 are in range, the button will be greyed out until all ships are within range. Same goes for marines on the ship.
- Its scripted so that you can select multiple ships and it will factor each ship(s) marine count into the boarding process. ALL marines present on selected ship(s) will be part of the boarding attempt. No way to decide how many to send in the current state without a UI menu(see below notes)
- The current time limit is 4 minutes to take a station (from button click to outcome).
- If not at war with the station owner, upon attempting to take it, its seen as an act of war and you are immediately at war with -20 to -30 rep.
- If already at war with the faction who owns the station, no biggie, capture at your hearts content.
- Expect losses. Capturing stations shouldn't be a no loss process. Successful captures will have a lower KIA total than failing the attempt.
- Since station batteries will be firing on you while your troops attempt capture, may be a good idea to have air wings attack turrets prior to entering boarding range
- Hint....Station HP....end hint.
