This mod adds an additional tier of shields for all ship sizes to Teladi and Ministry shipyards.
This includes versions which shield turret groups on large ships and stations.
This adds an additional tier on top of the shields added by my other mod, ET Teladi Shield Upgrades.
The other mod however, is NOT required. Just be aware that you'd miss the previous tier for M, L and XL ships as those don't exist in Vanilla. E.g. you'd have a M Shield Mk2 (Vanilla) and an M Shield Mk4 (This mod) but not the Mk3 from the other mod.

Questions:
What is IPX?
-> This stands for Interplanetary Expeditions and is the name of the fictional company which designed these modules. They are flagged as Teladi as maker race, so they appear in menus alongside other Teladi shields. (E.g. this naming has minimal to no gameplay impact other than as tooltip when hovering over the module.)
How is this balanced?
-> A modest increase in capacity and recharge rate - alongside a significant jump in cost. It's not cost-effective to just spam all your ships with max shields, just like shield upgrades in Vanilla. This is designed for when you really want to give that ship extra protection, such as auto traders which operate in more dangerous areas or your primary fleet.
Ultimately, this is a new tier - so ships equipped with these have about 20% higher shield capacities.
Can the AI use these?
-> The threshold is set too high for this to happen in reality. Every ship build by the AI has a 'treshold' value it needs to exceed to allow equipment and these only apply at the highest level. I've set the value here high enough that the AI normally shouldn't equip these.
License restriction?
-> As these are objectively 'the best', they are restricted to the capital equipment license which you get at higher relationship rank. It's not that difficult to get relationship with the Teladi.
Blueprints?
-> You should be able to buy the blueprints and manufacture these yourself, like any other shield modules.
