About this mod
Mod replaces vanilla ship tuning with a complete new and larger set of tunings.

It also adds new wares for the blueprints but they are not yet required as I did not have the time and patience to balance it properly. The new wares are drops like regular parts and can be sold if you have Modification parts trader installed.
The goal of this overhaul is to get the best out of ship tuning while keeping it balanced.
The general idea is like this:
You want a lighter hull? Sure, but you lose some hull points.
Stronger Engine? Of course, lets redirect some of your maneuver thrust to forward thrust.
More range for your Lasers? Absolutely, but they wont be as powerful.
You want a stronger hull? Not a problem, but this will have some extra weight!
There is also stealth mods, radar mods, environment protection and cargo concealment.
There are plenty variants for every need I could think of, and each variant is available in Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3. The better the quality, the stronger the tuning and lower negative effect. There is NO RNG! You get what you expect.
The mod is not finished though. Not sure if I actually finish the part with the wares. It took me quite some time to balance it to this point, and it is still not perfect. But better as vanilla for sure! Imho...
Installation:
Drop the content into your extensions folder.
Compatibility:
With everything as long as it is not changing the ship tuning.
Best to use it with all DLC's. It works without them but likely cause errors on startup. Nothing critical though it will just not find the ships of the DLC's referenced in this mod.
Updates:
Since Egosoft always keeps new updates safe game compatible, this mod will most probably work kind of forever.
Safe game compatibility:
It is safe to install mid game, however, if you have mods installed on your ships the values will be reset and the mods need to be dismantled and a new variant needs to be installed. I suggest you make a names safe before installing and then test if you like it. Because removing the mod will mess up all tuned NPC ships, probably, not entirely sure. But it replaces NPC ship mods with new ones. Could be it works the other way around too...
Known Issues:
As I mentioned above, the new wares are pretty much useless and can only be sold if you have the mod Modification parts trader installed. But there is a little issue with the UI of the trader mod. You can't trade anything if your list of wares is so short that you don't need to scroll. I know it sounds weird, and it is. So I recommend you always keep one piece of each ware in the inventory so your list is not short. I have not Idea what caused this and already asked kuertee if he can help me figuring out but it seems he was busy when I asked him.
Funfact: The mod is 1.4mb large and consists only out of xml files. That is a lot of text. :p
