A small percentage of the growing amount of Fochs being produced were equipped with a new experimental weapon, the 155mm gun with a reverse engineered version of the canister autoloader from the Lunarians.
Lunarian autoloaders were a grave threat to the earlier static defense tactics employed by the Former Hell forces. As the conflict took a turn for the underground dwellers, a few of the systems were captured and tested in the Oni Works facilities. Testing on their own versions were successful, so the engineers decided to see what happens with the new autoloaders as well as their largest caliber gun.
Most 155mm Fochs saw combat above ground, and they were quite effective. However, their obvious canister reload disadvantage did outline the need for more traditional concepts.
