Tested this mod on latest patch 1.32 today, and still works. Just make sure you follow the installation instructions. Install https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/897/ first, then this mod. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE COPY /bin/ FOLDER STEP CORRECTLY.
If your FOV is all zoomed in and messed up, READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM.
Does the FOV mod still work after the next gen patch? I just cannot get this to work and ive seen other complaints from recent users? really have motion sickness problems and fixing the FOV works wonders. thank you
It would be great if someone made a mod like this that works on the steam deck. I tried all the variations in this thread on the deck and none of them worked. A lot of new players will be playing the game there, and the FOV problems with the game are intensified by the small form factor and portability of the deck!
Just a heads-up for others, the mod works on 1.32, but not all the time and what breaks it is vague. I tried getting it to work for days and it wouldn't; no errors or anything, but the sliders just wouldn't have any effect. Apparently, this is because of conflicts with other mods, but which ones you'll need to test out for yourselves.
In my case, it was "Ghost Mode". There is some conflict (probably in player.ws) that doesn't throw any errors up and can't be fixed with merging. As soon as I removed Ghost Mode (for entirely unrelated reasons), this mod immediately worked.
It drove me insane for a few days and I see others having problems as well, so I thought I'd throw my two cents in.
Also, kudos for making this; higher FOV (around 75) is a game-changer in combat, especially if you're playing on a gamepad.
The mod doesn't work properly. Once installed and script merger has been run, upon starting the game the camera goes insane. All kinds of different fuzz and snow effects, flickering, shaking, you can't even see the game. On top of this it does not show up in the mod menu in-game to adjust. It looks like the mod has been abandoned and no longer works.
"Now, once the mod was installed i headed to the options menu in the main startup menu of the game. Then, in between Credits(or Video) and Language there will be a larger than normal gap between the two. If you highlight the gap, that is the fov menu. I dont know why it doesnt display the text, but the button still works. Once in the "blank" menu, there will be another invisible button. Clicking this button will bring you to the FOV menu. I recommend setting both values to 40 (the minumum) and heading into the game, before changing it to your preference as it gives you a feel for what a dramatic change it causes."
this is nerve wrecking... you should post a simple video of how to install this... step by step so noone has to pull there hair out trying to guess where to store the files... how you laid the instructions are quite difficult for most ppl to undertand.. some prefer to see videos to get the ideas... and alot of us are not quite A students... but we're still figuring out 2+2 lol... just requesting a video to make the install setup easier for everyone.. .
For everyone wondering. The option is invisible for some reason in the goty edition. you also need to merge it if necessary. If your fov is all over the place and you don't see nothing it means the mod is installed. If the option is not on your menu it means it's invisible. Normally you will get an empty menu item in the mod list and clicking on it will bring the fov menu. That's probably why he wants the localisation mod but even with it i still don't get it. anyway work in goty but buggy af.
