Version v1.05
Complete revamp of the guide in conjunction with the re-release of Caerme. Lune is now much more vanilla-friendly while Caerme will be more vanilla-unfriendly. The most notable changes are:
- Removal of several vanilla-unfriendly gameplay mods, moved to Caerme
- Removal of most main character retexture mods. Vanilla NGs ones are pretty good on their own
- Removal of a few other minor mods
Version v1.04
Added:
- All containers Glow without Witcher senses
- Filterless Toussaint
Removed:
- Depravity Lighting Mod (Decided to stick to vanilla lighting to be in line with the guide purpose)
- Serenity Lighting Mod (Decided to swap to filterless toussaint to be more in line with the vanilla+ of the guide)
- Less Dodge Invul (Mod is no longer available)
Version v1.03
Added:
- Restored Content - Yellow Mutagens - Next Gen
- Balanced Damage Scaling
Removed:
- Dog Appearance Overhaul aka DAO - Decided it wasn't that necessary with the updates made to Beasts by the Paws
- Geralt Level Scales - Has some frustrating issues and I generally prefer how Balanced Damage Scaling handled it
- Always Full Exp (Next-Gen) - Balanced Damage Scaling does this as well so the mod is redundant
Updated:
- Enemy Levels Hidden and No Quest Levels - Removed the Enemy Levels Hidden Component as it flows better with Balanced Damage Scaling
Version v1.02
Added the following mods:
- Slimmer Griffin Armor
- Depravity LM
- Serenity LM
Removed the following mods:
- Vanilla Enhanced Lighting (I Like the depravity/serenity duo more)
- No Hit Reaction (Too unstable mod as per author's recommendation)
Version v1.01
Added the following mods:
- Aerondight Replacer
- Beasts by the Paws
- Characters Reworked Project
- Cut-Throat Razor
- Fast Travel From Anywhere For Next Gen
- Less Dodge Invul
- The Essential Weapons Rework Mod
- Timelapse - A vanilla abandoned site scene replacer
- Weight
Removed the following mods:
- Aerondight Redone (Like Aerondight replacer more now)
- Killing Monsters Appearance (Came into dire conflicts with Essential Weapons Rework)
Introduction Welcome to Lune. This is a mod guide for Witcher 3 Complete Edition
The purpose of this mod guide is to enhance almost all aspects of the witcher 3 to bring it to a higher standard than it currently sits at. Some underlying issues with W3 have been adressed while a large amount of W3s vanilla systems have remained untouched. The focus is to provide something more immerisve while also retaining what makes W3 click and remaining true to its more arcade-like roots
The guide recommends that you are at least somewhat familliar with modding Witcher 3 although I will provide instructions on how to do it should you not know
Disclaimer This guide aims to stay as close to vanilla as possible meaning no overhauls are used. If you would prefer to depart from the vanilla design more readily then use my other guide Caerme
The guide is often in a state of updating. As long as something is not critical I bring updates about every 2 weeks although this will vary from time to time.
If you would like to keep up with future plans of the guide I have a link to a Trello which details what I am currently considering, what I will add and what I will remove from the guide
If you wish to find me on discord to discuss potential features or issues: Wolven Workshop https://discord.com/invite/9GSqpgZ
Guide Features Gameplay - No whole game overhaul mods are used e.g. FCR3, GM or EE - Reduction of the influence of levels on the gameplay - Improvements to some underutilised game elements - Difficulty increases without using artifical methods - An ability to track your progress from Progress on the Path
Lighting - Vanilla Enhanced Lighting is used - No reshades are used
Characters - Most side characters remain true to their vanilla style but improved using Characters Reworked Project
Armour and Weapons - No new weapons or armour dlcs - All armour sets have been retextured to possess a more rugged and realistic appearance
Small Changes - A large number of QoLs that improve the game flow - Implementation of small gameplay changes to make the game more engaging
Credits Special thanks to the witcher modding communities on discord (In particular Wolven Workshop) for providing good advice and suggestions
