If you want to experience 100% of the content, you have to start a new game. That being said the mod works perfectly fine on an existing game too.
On first load, the mod will check your current save file to see where you've been and add some books and glossary entries accordingly.
Items that can only be found in loot containers won't show up in them, if you already looted that container in the current game. There is nothing that can be done about that.
Same thing about books that you have already read, those, unfortunately, won't add any entries, only the un-read books will.
The mod works in all localizations.
If you remember the mod "Witcher Book Collection" then this is it, only better.
If this mod doesn't merge automatically with any other mod, leave a post and I will take a look.
There will be. I have found and restored a bunch more documents in my dev-build. But a lot of things going on in life right now, not a lot of time for modding, so no current ETA fur the update.
Does this conflict with mods such as Progress on the path and Brothers in arms? I can't run the game after installing this mod I'm pretty sure and it worked fine with those two installed before (I made all three work in the past but I can't now somehow)
When using the addwlc command, I notice some of the items received have exclamation points (!) on the icons. This usually means that they are quest items and could cause certain quests from completing or cause unintended outcomes. Do I need to worry about that with this command?
No, because all the content added by WLC is not involved in any quests directly, they have exclamation marks because item is tagged as quest item in game files (which I haven't edited, that's the way they are). You might want to install Fix Stuck Quest Items though, just in case any of them get stuck permanently in your inventory as a quest item. Also, if you use the command, be prepared for spoilers, as some items (like the Heart of Toussaint sketch), you shouldn't have until the relevant quest. But it won't break anything if you have it.
And if you use that command and keep playing, then you will eventually get 2nd copy of each item naturally.
I added this mod to my mod list correctly but when I went to script merger there are several files that script merger says are unmergeable. IS this supposed to happen or is something wrong with my mods?
It's BIA main files and these files that are telling me they are unmergeable. Not any other mods.
Yes, everything is how it should be. Both WLC and BIA edit the same files, that cannot be merged. In this case BIA contains all edits from WLC, so (unless you mess with load priorities), they will load in the correct order and both mods will function as intended.
Keep in mind as well, "not mergeable" is not a bad thing. It's just Script Merger can't merge them, so you have to resolve their conflict by priority order (if the alphabetical order is correct or not).
Hey dumb question, but where do I actually get the Witcher 1 & 2 books in the world? I believe I installed the Mod correctly (I installed the W3 Lore and overwrote the files with the W 1& 2 version).
I'm early in the game (White Orchid) and see the glossary with five books from Geralt's early adventures. Are those the books the add-on installed? If not, where do I find them? The image in your post made me assume that you received all of them automatically in your inventory, but maybe I'm mistaken.
You can buy full sets of W1 and W2 books from T.K.Hodgson once you get to Novigrad. That's the bookstore on Hierarch Square. Or you can use console commands to unlock them instantly. Console commands are on the mod's description page.
The only incompatibilty with EE Redux would be that it has a very old version of Witcher Book Collection incorporated in it, since times of regular EE. So you would get some duplicate documents and they might be in weird places, because that old version was made in 2015 using whatever means available at that time.
Got an issue with this mod, when trying to use the addon for 1 and 2 content.
it all merged okay in the script merger but when i start teh game i get the script compilation popup and this is what it says.
Is there a fix that I can do to get this to work.
I am using the next gen latest patch and the latest versions of this mod and the addon file. and I can attest that without the addon teh game does run fine with the lore content.

Ohh, I wasn't aware. I'll use the script merger then, thank you. A bit off topic, but is there any reason you chose not to include this mod in BIA? It's all essentially cut content, and seems as though it would fit right in with everything else restored by BIA.
Probably main reason is that WLC was the first mod I ever worked on and it was made long before BIA even come about as an idea. And BIA is a shared project with other authors, while WLC is purely mine.

(goes to add 50 more mods to his list)
