An addon to mod Witcher 3's vegetation. Developed for Blender 3.3.0, other versions are not tested.
Import/Export .json files dumpable and readable by wolven kit to make them srt (Real Time SpeedTree Meshes).
Some general documentation about SpeedTree: https://docs.speedtree.com/doku.php?id=start
And a demo of the various tools present in the side panel of the addon:
It should also be able to read .srt files from any source (like Unreal Engine 4, for instance) and write them back in a format compatible with REDengine 3.
I won't make any video tutorial for this addon. Because adding vegetation to vanilla hubs is not possible, the use case of this addon is mainly to make new models of vegetation for new hubs. As such, I guess the user base will be around a couple of people maximum, so it's not worth the effort of making a video.
However, there is a use case for existing vanilla vegetation: replacement with improved or entirely different assets.
To get started, you first have to get familiar with what SpeedTree is and how it works, so here is a bit of documentation.
The research and development is still ongoing on the radish server with some substantial information about the addon functionalities. You are most welcome to join us there if you have questions or are interested in using, or developing the tool.
Updates are firstly uploaded here, and it's also the best place to report bug and/or help me with the code: https://github.com/ArdCarraigh/Blender_SRT_JSON_Addon
