Remember the old days where nearly every game had the option to disable blood and gore? Sure, only few players used these options, but for them it was crucial for a good game experience.
This mod disables
dismemberment of slain enemies
finishers
puddles of blood after human npc's death
scattered body parts after enemy explosions
red water after enemy death in water
combat blood (sword effects and ground strains)
Be aware that even with this reduction of visual violence, the game still shows much uncensored violence. This mod does not disable :(
blood effects after rotfiend explosions (quite annoying)
blood and gore in cutscenes (very annoying, but rare)
gore in the environment (annoying)
With this mod, the game should be on the level of The Witcher 2 regarding player induced visual violence (minus combat blood). Unfortunately the official modkit does nothing but to crash on my computer, so I cannot investigate models and textures.
If you have concrete ideas how to further reduce visual violence, I'd be happy to hear (any idea how to replace corpes in the environment with less torn ones, censor bloody cutscenes, especially flying heads?). My objective is only to change visual violence, not to change the witcher's lore.
