If this works... Thank you so much! The game is freaking more unforgiving on the health than Dark Souls. Despite meditation, food, potions and Quen, I find myself all too often going into a boss fight one hit away from death.

Just putting it out there: I did recreate the file from scratch, so I didn't pirate any work. Didn't really want to have to say this, but I don't know the authors file permissions. I have contacted the author to see if I could continue supporting it, will see what happens If he doesn't respond, I tread weird grounds and am the mod will probably fade into obscurity, but well....i tried
EDIT: Contacted author, got permission, will reupload soon

we know how to make it work again

In case you cannot understand: it's simple, just copy the mod's files into the directory "\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\content0\bundles" instead of "\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\patch0\bundles" and then click on the "reimport.bat" and do exactly the same that you are supposed to do with only one difference: when you are supposed to select file called "patch.bundle", just select the file called "xml.bundle" instead. I've just tried and it works fine You can still change the values of course, just don't forget to recompile the file again if you do so.

Good luck and have a good time in The Witcher world

    Eatihg Food to Regen?

Seriously, as an occasional top up it has some use, but as the main regen method, why would you do that at all?

Once you have the Swallow recipe, foods not required at all to regen, that's the only reason Swallow exists.

Combined with Quen, it's the mainstay of your health maintainance.

No auto health regen, is the mainstay of the separation between, the two harder difficulties and the easier ones.
Not the only difference as the addition of signs and potions are also needed, but certainly the most obvious one.

Having to conciously deal with the fact that health doesn't regen on it's own, increases the difficulty by making you react to it's loss and use Swallow to keep it full.
The limit of 3 Swallow potions is also your guide to, can I take on this opponent(s) yet. If you can't survive with 3 Swallow doses, you are outmatched and need to improve before tackling that particular opponent.

What you can survive will, of course, depend on your combat skills. If the opponent can't hit you, then you can beat it with your bare hands.
However, a change of tactics can often change, an unwinnable fight, into an easy win. Also, though the Bestiary is a great starting point, on what will work, it's not everything. It list's well known and confirmed vulnerablities, not all they may have.

This was made clear to me when fighting a Grave Hag, a Necrophage, so that was the blade coating. Yrden and Quen were the vunnerable signs.
I was getting soundly thrashed, even using 3 of the 4 known tools. I was ready to give up and come back later, when, on what I'd decided would be, my last attempt, I accidently one shotted the hag with my first strike. I had unintentionally switched my active sign to Ard, knocked her down and ground finished her before I was even aware what had occurred. Lesson is, don't to follow the Bestiary blindly, try other tactics if it's not working.

So though I agree, constantly eating food to regen health would be annoying, you're just doing it wrong. Adding auto regen, just makes the harder difficulties too easy.
While simply using the correct regen method, removes the entire reason to do this, in the first place. Which makes the entire mod pointless, except as yet another cheat to play on "Hard" while really on "Easy".

I'm sure the modder and players interested in said mod realize this mod makes the game easier and doesn't need a detailed lesson plan on how this makes higher difficulties easier, /facepalm. The reason people like always on health regen or even "reduced weight" mods which is among the most popular on here is for LESS micromanaging, simplicity sake really.

you completely missed the point, it's not about difficulty , you know, not all of us live in that "true players play on very hard" dick measurement contest like you . The purpose of this mod is to reduce redundant micro-management, and it does exactly that, as well as sticking to the lore. Witcher DO regenerate lightning fast, not wolverine fast, but pretty damn fast.
If you think lore infringement and tedious repetitive micromanaging are great things, that's up to you. Only up to you. Pontificating about how other players should play their single player experience will only make you look like a jackass however.

I'm gonna use an excellent quote from a very respected Faq author Haeravon:

"...Cheating? Yeah, sure. But one of the reasons most people play these games isn't for thethrill of inventory management."

When gaming becomes work, is the exact time when you know you don't have a life...Why the hell would one spend 8-16 hours real-time gaming to earn less than it would take at a real-full time job?

In the background, Geralt regens faster than humans naturally. and food doesn't heal you. I hate games that do that. Oh and swallow is meant to be used in a fight to counter enemies that do damage over time. I personally play with reduced effect potions, but increased duration like in the books/previous games. besides which if you think even the hardest difficulty in this game is hard without mods, then, not to take your whole elitist gamer thing from you but, get better. it's pathetically easy even without this change...

I can no longer set vitality regen past 15... if I set it to 80 then it doesn't actually give me 80HP/ps... anything higher and my stats get nerfed.

Did CD Projekt RED do this..?

Make sure your backup patch.bundle isn't in the same folder as the main one. Move it to a completely separate location.

A lot of the stat adjustments no longer appear to be working as of 1.07. Encumbrance, skill damage, OOC vitality regen, etc.

It just occurred to me that this might be because I'm trying to make these adjustments on an existing savegame. Even in the changes work on a new game, this is still a huge problem. I made the changes I did for personal comfort purposes, and if every patch basically makes me start over I'm not going to bother.

Apparently if you have your backup patch bundle anywhere in the folder of the main one(even a sub-folder) it will use the backup and not the changed one. Moving the backup patch.bundle to a completely separate location seems to resolve this issue.

How do you successfully modify the values?

I adjusted values, saved, made sure it is the same size (44kb) and re-imported but nothing has changed..
I am using Dead March difficulty, and am currently not using any other mods. I've entered combat and it did nothing afterwards.

Edit: Does this mod not currently work with 1.05?

How're you guys editing the values? I edited the geralt_stats file given by the mod (idk if theres another one or not) and nothing happened. I edited the same value you guys are editing, the vitalityRegen type="add" one, and nothing is happening in game. I enter combat, leave, and still have the slow 4 health per second, even if i edit the values to say, 100 health per second. Can someone provide a detailed guide on how to properly edit this?

Added clarity, just changing the values seems to do nothing (yes im saving the XML afterwards ). Trying to reimport after the edit causes the program to get mad at me, editing the file causes it to be larger than the original file, meaning the reimport program doesnt want to use it.

yeah the file has to be the same size, adding extra characters causes it issues. it should work if you can find an equal number of spare characters in a comment to delete...
