Great mod so far! I do have a question though, does the replacement for the Ciri portrait for Corvo Bianco also affect the version in the Emperor's room in Vizima? The one he references when he first contacts Geralt?
Good question and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure. To my knowledge, the picture of pouting Ciri as a child is the only one I'm aware of in the game. So unless it is a static image on the wall in the Emperor's office, then my guess is yes. I will have to test that. Thanks for the callout.
Confirmed - yes. It is showing on the wall in Emyhr's office. I personally think it looks really good, and far better than the vanilla "pouting" Ciri portrait. Also, he references her and points to the picture, but he says nothing to indicate age. I don't see anything in how this scene plays out that would break immersion. It's an attractive picture of his daughter on the wall. ;-)
Nope! He just points at it and refers to her as his daughter, but there is no indication that the age doesn't line up. I think it actually works much better with the replacement picture than the original!
The portrait of the child of Ciri has always bugged me in the game. In the books that was the Fake Ciri that was in the portrait and her dress was green & white if I remember that part correctly. Ciri was still being hunted down by Emyhr's men, he never got to see Ciri until she was around the age of 16.
I thought I was correct, it's been over a year that I read all of the books for a second time. I need to read them again so I can criticize the Netflix show even more.
I like the idea behind this and the new painting before/after is of good quality. However, imo the white background is a bit too striking, if it was something more subdued/fit like the "sky" background in the original painting that would make it even better. Just a suggestion though. :)
Let me see what I can do with that. I've seen mods that change out the portraits in the game, but I think they're all nudes. I'll see if I can find that one of Ciri and swap it for something better. I think it's the one labeled Fake Ciri
Uploaded 2 versions of the Ciri Portrait. Pics in gallery. Also updated the thumbnail icon and the image that displays in the inventory image viewer, so it is all consistent. Hope you guys enjoy them.
