Thanks for this wonderful mod. This really diversifies the music, and all the melodies are chosen very harmoniously. And there are not only melodies from the previous parts, but also others. For example, “Gooseberry...” in a very cool performance. The mod also diversifies the music in gwent games. What is especially valuable to me is that the mod works on my favorite version of the game, 1.31, and is also compatible with my favorite Enhanced Edition mod. Mod 10 out of 10 points.
The tools used for OG audio mods do not work with next gen update. Until we have either updated sound tool, which is unlikely, or a new way of handling sound files, we're in limbo.
not really. Problem is we still lack the tools to make next gen audio mods. Or at least have I not heard of any updated sound modding tools. I would bet that as soon as those tools in whatever shape or form exist mods will start to get portet to next gen.
Someone will most likely see this in a few months/years and decide to make it, then forget about it and never upload it. Many such cases but yeah I hope someone does 'remix' the songs.
I thought the same and looked for alternative and found New Music Project, its very similar to this but still different. Used it a lot in my playthroughs and liked it.
But then I thought, I liked W1 and W2 music too much so I created my own version of Music Overhaul. and I did upload it
This mod uses the original files and adds the new music at the end of the original music so that both tracks/songs play after each other. You need to wait till the original song ends. Sadly you can't really ad new music files to the game and tell it to choose randomly between them. You can just edit/change the existing files and replace music that way or do the compromise and put two songs in one file. Only downside of this is that you sometimes will have the feeling that the game reverts back to original music when the game changes the currently played file. For example after cutscenes or in/after combat or if you arrive in another area you will hear original game music first everytime when music changes and an new track starts.
That's sad. It would be great to have random music playing, but this mod just adds new tracks at the end of original's. This is why I still hear vanilla music mostly.
Hmm, When I fight Olgierd at the burning manor, the music swaps to a generic battle theme. Has anyone encountered this? Aside from that this is an amazing and completely necessary mod, W2 soundtrack is really superior in general, not to mention how boring even the best W3 themes can get.
Sadly, ever since that happened, every fight in the velen/novigrad region has the same theme, and after it always the same 'Hunter's path' follows, this repeat is starting to torture me like "easy street" from The Walking Dead when darryl was a prisoner of negan, every time I run into combat I already start fearing that once I end the fight, I will hear those f***ing violins..(im only half joking, i actually hate that theme so much i turned off music completely in this region) This is a problem that somehow became part of my save file, and after checking a lot of my save files, I believe playing through Hearts of Stone, specifically, the Toad Prince fight with this mod installed is most likely what can cause this(but if you're lucky, it won't) . Other regions work fine, and on saves before starting HoS the velen/novigrad region is fine too. But my main save is ruined and I have no idea if and how it could be fixed. Anyway I don't blame the author and I still love the mod, it's just unlucky because I found which save exactly started having this problem, and my last previous save from a day before didn't have it, but after first experiencing the bug in the olgierd bossfight, i thought "whatever just 1 fight" then I went to Skellige right after that, where everything works fine, and after 30-40 hours of playtime, I went back to the continent and noticed that it's not just a small one time thing with a bossfight but a constant problem. in the novigrad velen region. I'd have to replay all that or idont know what else I could do.
Oh my God, that just happened to me too. At first I didn't think much of it, but for me it's also a savefile-breaking bug. Removing the mod or anything else does not help, it breaks the savefile and plants that bug into it. It's horrible, really. The combat music also ends abruptly before it launches into 'Hunter's Path'. Horrible.
Sorry bro, I haven't found a fix. But if you load an earlier save, it should work, just check after the fight that the bug triggered or not, or uninstall mod and reinstall after fight. I hope you have a save not long before :\ unlike me..

It seems like the same music as before? Maybe one or 2 songs I MAYBE don't recognize?
