About this mod

This mod enables automatic camera following for sprinting and galloping when using a gamepad and automatic camera centering is turned off in the options menu.

Permissions and credits
When I first played The Witcher 3, I was instantly annoyed by the automatic camera centering feature. Fortunately, the latest version has a slider in the options menu to turn it off.

However, when playing with a gamepad, it gets quite hard to sprint or gallop with Roach and having to adjust the camera, since you have to use your right thumb for pressing the sprint/gallop button as well as move the right analogue stick.

Therefore, I decided to make a mod to enable automatic camera centering only when pressing the sprint/gallop button.

It does not interfere with the automatic camera centering option in the menu, meaning:

If auto center is enabled, you won't see a difference from vanilla.
If auto center is disabled in the menu, you will not get auto centering except when sprinting and galloping.

Also, it only works when using a gamepad, thereby not interfering with mouse and keyboard controls where auto centering is basically useless.

I edited the following scripts:
...\content\scripts\game\player\states\extendedMovable.ws
...\content\scripts\game\player\states\vehicles\horseRiding.ws

These scripts are not used in as many mods as others, so conflicts will probably be quite uncommon.
However, you should not be using this mod with elaborate camera mods, since they most likely have their own system for camera following implemented.

Installation:

Extract the archive and put the extracted folder "modGamepadAutoCenterSprintGallop" into your "The Witcher 3/mods" folder.
If you are using other mods that may be changing one of these scripts as well, use Script Merger to detect and resolve any possible conflicts.

Have fun!
