Would you mind giving more specific instructions on what to edit into input settings to set up the hotkeys?

I know it seems so simple but obviously quite some people are confused about this. I can understand it.... kinda. If you've never done anything with the input settings it can be a bit unintuitive. Consider to put a more detailed instruction into the description. In the end it will save you time not answering the question here over and over again.

      @phlyte7
In your "documents" folder (NOT the Witcher 3 installation folder. It is where your savegames are located as well) you will find a folder called "The Witcher 3" and within a file called "input.settings". Open it with notepad.
Within the mod folders you will find an "input.settings" file as well. Add the lines in this file at the end of all the categories (i.e. Fight, Boat, Swimming, Horse etc.) mentioned in it to the one of the game folder. If you want to be able to toggle the cloak in more situations, you will need to add the line to them as well. For example add it to "Scenes" if you want to toggle it in sequences.
After you've added all lines close the file and save it. Now you can toggle the cloak with the assigned key.

So if I were to install Hoods and not install your DLC portion of your mod, would that allow me to use the hotkey to toggle the Hoods version of the KM cloak? I love the concept but I'd prefer to have it be the one you buy in Hoods than a visual thing like AMM. Either way I'll be using it, looks great.

Nope, this is a fully standalone version of the black km cloak from Hoods. But it doesn't call for Hoods km cloak, it has its own cloak. And it does not work like AMM as you are having an item equipped in your pocket slot with my mod. Unlike AMM.

I think this mod has conflicts with eye mods because when i tried to combine it with eye texture mods it removed Geralt's eyes. Can anyone comfirm this ?

No, it doesn't. It is a dlc so no conflict. Make sure you haven't reached your mod limit.

just wondered is there anyway I can make it work with immersive cam mod? I tried to install everything done right and lots of conflicts with immersive cam mod. Could it be that I need to give priority to Immersive cam over cloak.

    Cheers!

It works perfectly with Immersive cam, I use both of them. You just have to merge the scripts.

Damn that's a shame I don't like merging mods so I can add and remove them woth greater ease. Maybe at some point I'll try just for this mod. Or If you could release a version with compatible scripts I'd really appreciate it, if not no worries. Cheers for the reply.

This mod is compatible with Immersive Cam. As you can see here https://imgur.com/a/8fR5r1c they edit the same r4player.ws file so confliction is obvious. You can try using Script Merger. Script merger will auto-merge them easily. It will chose scripts from both mod and merge them into one file. A few clicks and you will have this awesome mod and probably many more.

Yes. You only have to merge script manually when they actually conflict with each other. But Immersive cam and Killing Monsters Cloak are compatible. I wouldn't have had 241 mods installed without script merger. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/484

Works flawlessly. Just as a heads up, I assumed you could rebind the 8 key to a different key but if you do, the mod won't work. At least it didn't for me. As soon as you go back to the 8 key, it will work perfectly.

    Thank you for the mod!

Have you tried rebinding in the input.settings file instead of doing it in the game's options menu?

Great mod. The ability hot key the cloak is such an awsome quality of life feature. Would it be possible to make different colored version toggleable, the ones from hoods?
If not, anything goes with black. Endorsed

Nope, I will not do that, it would require a hotkey for each color. Kinda too much.
Or if it's just a matter of replacing the black one and not adding some hotkey, then you can just make a mod and copy paste the coloring entries for the color you want from Hoods

Yeah, I did the same as well, mod to mod, DLC to DLC (made some corrections with the content due to errors in-game) and copy-paste line to input, but nothing. pressed the buttons and nothing happened. I checked some other mods I installed and they were working? Is there any additional steps we forgot to take?

You guys bought the cloak first, right? If so and still nothing happens, try installing the mod with Witcher 3 Mod Manager. Make sure the game recognizes the Script before it allows new input lines.

Wait you have to buy it first? Okay, I thought download, install, copy-paste then toggle. Okay. Where can I get the cloak then in-game??

You can buy it from Bram in White Orchard or Elihal in Novigrad. If still nothing appears in their inventory, try uninstalling the mod and install it again with W3 Mod Manager. I don't know why but seems like sometimes copy-paste method doesn't work. In my case, I couldn't run the mod using the copy-paste method. Then, i uninstalled the mod and install it again with Mod Manager this time, and apparently the mod were working flawlessly. But still you have to copy and paste new input.settings lines manually.

You don't have to buy it. Not this one. The ones from Hoods have to be bought though.
You all know that it is dlc_KillingMonsterCloak that goes into your dlc folder right?

Yes sir i did exactly that. dlc_KillingMonsterCloak to dlc folder. Problem is, same issue occured back then when i tried to use "Toggle-able Grandmaster Feline Hood" mod. Since you used BusChaser's script to create this, maybe it's related to that somehow? Nonetheless as i mentioned before, when i installed this mod with W3 Mod Manager, i manage to get this working.
Godlike work btw, i freaking loved it.

So I guess you were failing the manual installation for both my mod and BusChaser one. But it's not important, as long as you got it to work, everything's ok.

    @X20T3rMiN4t0R
hi, i am the original creator of "Geralt Cloak" mod ( https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2659/ ). I am impressed that you can create a proper cloak for geralt without broke the texture bone & broke the UV texture. You can use all files from "Geralt Cloak" to improved this mod. You don"t need my permission & you don't need to credited me either.

    Things to improved:
    1. Separated the hood (button 8) & the cape (button 9)
    2. Added animation when toogling Cape & Hood (you can use the script from "Geralt Cloak")
    3. Added cloak for Vesemir

Back in the day before i am stop modding, i am also testing to give "Ciri toogle-able hood" complete with animation. But the problem is the hood is duplicate on her head. I can send you the Ciri testing file if you interest.

Agreed. A decent placeholder is to use this mod in combination with the Geralt Cloak mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2659. Which is an excelent mod on it's own. Just make sure to use different keybinds, they both use "IK=8" by default.
While the cloaks are different the cloak from Geralt Cloak can pass as if the hood was lowered and the cloak thrown off the shoulders. I think the three variations compliment each other quite well.
      Thanks to both authors.

Seems to conflict with the companion mod, even if you use the script merger. Any way to fix it?

Doesn't seem to work. Choosing A (vanilla) or B (merged patch) doesn't work. The game throws out a script error. Choosing C (companion mod) does allow the game to launch after implementing the scripts, but the hotkey doesn't work, even after you insert the hotkey into input.settings.

Just choose B+C or C+B it depends on how looks the script from companion mod, I have no idea.
