About this mod
This mod fixes the conversation with Thaler and unlocks the ability to mention his monocle and return it to him. In order to do so, the player must have the following items in their inventory:
Burned Papers (mq0004_burnt_papers)
Silver monocle (mq0004_thalers_monocle)

This mod fixes the conversation with Thaler and unlocks the ability to mention his monocle and return it to him. In order to do so, the player must have the following items in their inventory:
Burned Papers (mq0004_burnt_papers)
Silver monocle (mq0004_thalers_monocle)
Bug description:
Originally, you were meant to be able to use this conversation in the game if you had in inventory the aforementioned items. However, the devs forgot to check the player's inventory for the items, and they were checking "nothing" for the items - thus this conversation remained locked.
Also, after unlocking the conversation, the monocle was given to Thaler, but was not removed from the player's inventory - this I've fixed as well.
Installation:
place the folder modtalarFixMod inside your *InstallationPath*/mods folder.
Additional info:
Thaler remains at the Seven Cats Inn (provided that he is saved from the Trolls and survives the game) after the game's ending - so you can (in most cases) use this mod after you've "completely" finished your gameplay.
If you, however, dropped the Burned Papers (as most of us did), then you can easily retrieve them using the following console command:
UPDATE 2019-08-09:
A new version (second file) has been uploaded where the player no longer needs to have the Burned Papers in their inventory - Instead, those papers must have only been read.
