UPDATE: 0.91 supports shirtless Geralt animations (oops, that was supposed to be there), and accounts for a few clothing items that are missing the tags used by the mod.
This is an updated and reworked version by me, that also contains new animations from school of roach and improved combat animations. I have reworked the scripts so that silver and steel for each armor set (light medium and heavy chest armor) will have different animation profiles for both steel and silver swords and also secondary weapons or no armor at all. unpack and install dlc into dlc folder and mod into mod folder. run script merger. Also fist fighting animations remain Vanilla unlike Improved combat animations.
This is so very nice! Do you think it's possible to make him use Olgierd's animations while wearing HoS robe or holding ofieri saber? (I'm not talking about reddish magic charges, just Olgierd's fighting style itself)
That's a really cool idea, and I suppose there is a chance it could be possible, but I would have to somehow dig up those animations and then find out if Geralt can perform them. I'm not aware of where npc animations can be found and if Geralt's model/skeleton can be made to perform them.
That's kind of intriguing, though, so I'll spend a little time looking into that. No promises.
Edit: I found the animations I need, but Geralt can't use them unless they are somehow added to the base player entity and I just don't know how to do that. I suspect it is possible, and I'd like to figure it out because getting access to all the npc attack animations would be awesome. I don't know when if ever this will happen, though.
This is what erxv (he's one of the modders around here at Witcher Nexus) once made - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1A2gKZZuOw I believe he just used some premade keyboard commands to make Geralt perform these animations, and that this isn't the actual combat action, but perhaps he could give a hint? I don't know why he didn't advance this, nor whether if this was due to the lack of perspective (I hope not).
i think i read about that on some youtube video... erxv didn't advance on it because he wasn't able to do it, i think he tried but he wasn't able to finish it
This mod make geralt battle animation to as woman https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2977 perhaps you could learn something? because i really like the idea geralt use olgierds animation
Hi, man! I am very curious about your work, because it seems so natural to think alike that different armour weight makes different penalties, so the only thing what concerns me is dodges. Have you touched it? I'm curently using farattack dlc version by Monarchx which goes pretty well on that matter so i'm worried if they gonna conflict, also cuz of them both changing attack distance as i reckon. Also how's it about alpha ver? :)
This mod does not change anything about your dodge. It only changes which animations play when you use attack actions.
There is a separate place where the game determines if you should make a far attack and I have not changed that. I have only changed which animations will play if and when you do make a far attack. I don't exactly what is in the farattack mod you are using, but they could be compatible. You'll just have to look at them and see if they are changing the same scripts.
I guess this mod is not really "alpha", but there are quite a few things that could be worked on. For example, there is a whole set of animations for attacking up or down on steep slopes that I haven't touched at all. The basic animation groups I made could be more polished. However, my ongoing work no longer uses just armor class, I'm working on animation sets based on different types of weapons with some minor variations for armor class. So I probably won't come back to spend much time on this, but the mod works just fine as it is despite what is missing.
anyway, I like it, I use it with farattack dlc it's all good :) Thank you! maybe if you'll ever comeback to it, you should do something about those attacks that he performs at hillocks\steep slopes, it's like all animations of your mod are dismissed by vanilla close up animations unfortunate.

Thanks again. :D
Edit: Is that possible to detect the enchanted chest armour type instead of the original chest armour type?
