    GETTING COMPILATION ERRORS?

    1) Make sure you have no other script mods installed (see 'about compatibility)
    2) Double and triple check you followed the installation instruction to the letter

After that, you are on your own. We cannot help you with further issues as it's something entirely on your end.

All posts with compilation errors will be deleted

    About compatibility

As Reaperrz said in the description, using script merger is not recommended anymore. If you want to use another script mod you'll have to merge it manually through Notepadd ++ (use Kdiff3 to find differences).

If you managed to merge two mods, please share it in the new forum thread so others can use it.

Or hoard it like some dragon c*** or whatever.

Does anyone buff/nerf the damage multipliers for this mod? If so, what do you use??

I use 0.7 for all enemies health modifier (so combat is overall faster versus small/medium enemies, and big enemies arent HP sponges) and 0.5 for their damage. Might seem a lot, but its a reasonable setting. Game is still very challenging for big enemies, they feel like real bosses with a real challenge, and is no longer downright unfair with vanilla settings. Also, don't get cocky with small enemies, ghouls and bandits might not hit as hard now, but if you don't pay enough attention you get poked down, your combat abilities will suffer and will get you killed.

I am indeed playing with a controller. I've tried with KBM but I can't get used to it. I like the changes of the mod and the fact that the game is harder, but its a real pain sometimes, I just like a softer experience. And if you think about it, enemies that would 2 hit ko you, now they do the same in 4, doesn't really feel much different, just gives a slightly more open window for mistakes.

I use 1.3 for melee, 1.2 for signs, and 1.0 for bombs. I sometimes tone down the health from annoying enemies like dogs and wolves....Their ability to dodge you is OP, especially in a fight with a leshen.

Moving the difficulty slider one notch basically accomplishes the same thing, without messing with a bunch of sliders.

Might seem a lot, but its a reasonable setting.
0.7 incoming damage multiplied by 0.5 enemy hit points, multiplied by a hundred — your total difficulty rating is 35 percent. It is most certainly your right and privilege to play however you see fit, but when 65% of the gameplay experience is you struggling against a faulty ill-suited piece of equipment, that definitely makes one wonder whether a controller is in fact a sane choice.

Personally I play with a controller and enemy damage set to 1.5 and high aggression. All else on default except talent progression which is set between 0.25 and 0.5. Yes it is hard, but doable.

Just wanted to make a quick post.

After being totally overwhelmed when starting this mod, having always used a controller, I have to say...magnificent work. I've tweaked some of the difficulty settings to make it a BIT less hard-core, but the mechanics in this mod are just overwhelmingly awesome. The combat system is SO rewarding once you get the hang of it, and so deep! I still have trouble with some advanced combat moves, but again....well done. This is such an improvement over the base game.

I still get my ass handed to me usually by larger single foes.....but damn, when you come out on top after a long battle.....such an accomplishment.

To those who are saying it's too punishing...TWEAK THE SETTINGS! I even installed the combat-focus mod at first, to learn the mechanics, but now I don't even use it because the combat is so fluid and rewarding.

Totally right man, for a beginner, the default settings are brutal, but once you've reached Novigrad and have a decent strength character, you can do default settings. I went with a sign based Griffin build and I am OP. I think in the future it will be nerfed. Griffin armor turns all the bosses into cupcakes.

So, I noticed a behavior that I don't think is intended... wondering if anyone else has, too. When removing a skill and replacing it with another, the effect of the previous skill remains. I first noticed it with "Flood of Anger", where I swapped it out for something else but it was still active. Have confirmed this behavior with basically every other skill I have unlocked, too.

My fault for adding other mod? Or a bug? (though I should note that this behavior persists even after all other mods are uninstalled).

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Gotta say, I did read everything on the description page, although a while ago, when I first installed it. I just went back, read it again, and now see my error - I forgot talents were always active and the slots were only for mutagens. I did try to do a search before posting, too, and used the term "skill" instead of "talent". Oops.

Thanks again, and my apologies for the silly question.

Lmao, I rage quit this shit. I don't know man, the game being hard is a good thing. But I just don't think its fits Witcher 3. This game wasn't made for Souls type combat, fighting insane opponents and not making any mistakes. The enemies in this game are too random, they might just do something you could never anticipate and 1 shot you. That's okay in Souls, but in an open world like Witcher, I don't want to redo a cockatrice fight 40 times just because I need to grab the griffon set trousers. Its sad because this was gonna be my final playthrough, but I just cannot enjoy it when Im raging from losing 40 times to the average enemy you encounter near a tower. Maybe if the base game was built up on these elements, hit detection was GREATLY improved as it is horrible, as well as maybe making Geralt able to chain combos, then this would have been fantastic. I feel vanilla gave you that OP Invincible dodge to compensate for horrible hit detection from enemies, and somehow it worked, although it was still very easy. But now, fighting Witcher 3 monsters with above Souls level of preparation, skill, focus, etc. Ii still thank you guys for the mod, the idea of it is pretty great. Maybe I will return to the game one day when I am less butt-hurt from being repeatedly anal'd by the cockatrice.

Just adjust the difficult a bit using the built-in sliders for the mod. Try something like 1.5x melee damage or 1.5x Geralt's health.

You can also make the enemies a little bit less aggressive, that helps too.

For starters, enemies in the game are anything but random. You should observe their movement more carefully and be proactive, the general approach is the same as with the Souls games. There's what, two, three tops types of attacks for each monster depending on the distance: certain enemies like drowners, noonwraiths or the aforementioned cockatrices are easily abused by triggering certain predictable responses when attacking from a specific range or direction. Experience matters more so than the witcher talents or gear, "preparation, skill, focus etc".
Don't get disheartened too early in - the learning curve is steep but it's never over 90 degrees.

MY comment wasn't a complaint, the game was simply too hard for me, which I pointed out, as well as saying it is a great mod. I didn't fault the mod, but the vanilla game as I don't think it was built for Souls type combat, which this mod resembles. I went back to the game anyways, I decided to put a point into the extra bolt in the general talents, I feel like fighting that cockatrice is fairest when you are making best use of the crossbow, I hadn't been able to defeat it yet, but I feel like its possible now. :) Also, you shouldn't be so butthurt, I raged from not being able to defeat an enemy, you are butthurt because you saw my comment as complaining? Cmon man, don't we so shallow. This is a great mod and I thank everyone here who contributes to it, I never said anything against that, so calm down.

Yeah, that's what I thought, the learning curve is definitely there and it seems difficult because this is indeed a new type of game for me. Massive open world with Souls like combat, it takes getting used to. For now I put the settings a bit higher to get through all of Velen then head to Novigrad.

Yeah, the difficulty of w3ee really exposes the flaws in the vanilla game; like crappy hitboxes, borderline-terrible gamepad controls, and an occasionally wonky camera.

You controller folk amaze me every time: as opposed to vanilla, W3EE was not even designed with your average console expectations in mind. Bending attacks and combat navigation in general requires precise inputs clearly unattainable by means of a gamepad. Yet still people persist in their stubborness for reasons beyond my personal understanding.

Now I hope at least the OP had enough sanity to bring out KBM. This whole difficulty discussion thing has been pretty much pointless otherwise.

There is new comments every day in W3EE page. Damn, almost 9000 post already, and this is not even the orginal mod page - it got booted up in the past.
Most of them are kinda pointless, silly, repetitive and absurd. Hmmm.
I don't personally blame people who haven't been in this boat for too long, you know, asking for help or something. In my HOLY opinion; It's OK to ask s*** (e.g if you can't find your answer in the description etc)

But, for people spreading useless personal opinions; read the f***ing F.A.Q... Save some space from the servers or something.
Most of those "issues" could be solved by reading the description (F.A.Q. cough...) - or they can be tweaked via mod sliders. There is plenty of stuff to do and change, just don't be lazy and bravely dive in (with your Quen up) and tweak the sliders.

      @armenia300062
All those options, pal. And here you are, blaming s*** like a f***ing Jesus, accusing that the community is butthurt and shallow? The mod is too hard and the 'difficulty' doesn't fit in Witcher?
"Why the mod is not tailored for me personally?"
      Oh, my Lord...

      You are not special like Jesus. So, congrats, your comments fits nicely with the rest of the low-IQ-comment book called;

      Autistic Toddlers Diary, Part II
A Story about s***ing watery, rotten and stinky poo
      - Nexus plebs, 2018

You gotta admit, after all this f***ing cancer carousel - it's kinda amazing that there is still people who are willing to help scrubs, IQ5 faggots, drunk souls losers or retards. What a great community.

      2) The mod itself is incredible
      3) I only pointed out my lack of skill (which I am making up for now)
      4) You are the one that's randomly saying s*** like "drunk Souls loser" and s*** like that, so who really is offending who?
And calling me Jesus? What the hell is that about? You are coming off as borderline schizophrenic my friend. I came onto the forums a few times to seek help, Corveh and Dartious helped out along with a few other community members giving me advice. I made this comment when I was butt-hurt losing to an enemy, and I tried my best not to say anything bad, and yet somehow someone was offended? Cmon... You honestly think I'm writing this s*** because I think I am special? What does that make you? We are literally random people just exchanging thoughts and opinions, so please keep it civilized.

      Amen, drowners are fun.
1 Drowner = F***ing easy dodge training for Geralt. Playing with your eyes closed.
2 Drowners = Getting little bit cocky? Meh, start mixing up some bending attacks, for extra cinematic kills. GG easy win.
3 Drowners = Maybe use some counters for the sake of it.
4 of them = After 20 seconds, you heard the famous sound fx called "rip stamina management" - count in 5 and stare at the death screen like a true scrub.

      F***ing love those fellows.

Drowners are easy prey, if you know not to overextend and play smart. Skirt around their attack vector but be mindful of the point-blank double swipe — don't get too close during the idle animation. Ideally they should all be in constant motion trying to close the gap with a running attack, while you pick them off one by one with medium/long range strong slashes once they miss their leap. When up against more than three at the same time, dodging is pointless — sprint past them instead (with the threat of a close range swipe in mind). Do unbind roll. That's about it.

If I had a penny for each time I went over the combat basics, who knows, perhaps my fortune could even rival that of an average Italian gentleman.

Bend attack ? Yeah I m bending. Like tree in the wind (can't even hit the freaking tree)
With long range bend I can hit the Moon and nothing else.

That seems like a problem on your end, don't you find, eh? Strong attacks are to be used sparingly, preferably as a backstab with a medium range bend for additional safety. Rend when you've got an opportunity — this reliably staggers drowners/ghouls/whatnots even mid-air, ignores some armour and takes away a good portion of their health. Use fast attacks or quick Whirl when stationary.

After changing standard movement to uber movement, I feel like it can be a bit "cake-walk" when evading s*** with "sprinting cheese"... But, Gerry is a witcher with agility and s***, so w/e... I should tweak my stamina usage settings for sprinting I guess.

Slightly increased drowners overall speed, very high aggression for monsters and ~1.70 health multiplier for necrophages = The fun stuff kicks in. Atleast it did for me.

I can sympathize and empathize with you about that cockatrice fight... As soon as the lung animation begins you're hurt for half your hp. The mod is a foundation, and it was created for people who want a more immersive Witcher experience, which was done extremely well. Most importantly, you can adjust the sliders to tailor the mod to your experience. The mod author's idea of what it 'should' be like shouldn't make you think "i can't adjust these sliders, it's like cheating." This game is fantasy. The sliders are there to make it your own fantasy. Just play. It's more important to have an enjoyable experience than one that's extremely tedious, time consuming, and rage inducing.

There must be a problem with your installation, or maybe a conflicting mod. Enemy health bars should always be showing.

You mean both my problems or just the enemy bar thing?

You properly screwed something up if you only see quicksave in the keybinds. Retrace your installation steps.

As for the healthbars: read Friendly Hud's mod page and readme. Should do that for Lore Friendly Economy too while you're at it so you know how your mods work.

Does anyone else have a problem with the ui reporting an incorrect amount for some potions and decoctions, as well as certain decoctions not stacking?

I just wanted to thank the mod authors so much for this mod, I must admit that I was cutting my veins open during my first 10 hours or so, but now that I'm 25 hours in I have come to appreciate the difficulty. This mod not only enhances combat but, for me, also role-playing. Due to the difficulty of defeating some monsters and the changes made to the economy I am more hesitant to be the a goody two-shoes Witcher as gold is harder to come by now. Thank you very much guys!

Yeah for a role playing game about being a witcher, it very rarely made you feel like a witcher. Fights were too easy, and that removes the feel of danger in the world and story; Geralt felt like a Mary Sue. The lacking necessity to prepare for fights and the possibility to instead just steamroll through encounters with 'rare and dangerous creatures' removed the sense that you were a professional monster slayer.

      Glad you like it :)

Hey guys, is it intended that flying creatures like griffins and cockatrices dont crashland any more when hit by a crossbow bolt or is my installation botched?

Intended. You need either set them ablaze with explosive bolts, land a crit with crippling depression talent or have the cat eyes mutation active.

Aard will always knock them out of the sky, Igni only if it applies burning.

Is there a list of what injuries actually do? I'm not sure what exactly the purpose of injuring an opponent is, other than making them stagger when they perform certain actions, or get stunned for a moment with head injuries.

      Spoiler:

But I'm assuming, of course, you've already gone over the description and are looking for raw numbers instead.
