Make sure to delete the old Shield mod first. (including Robes and also delete old merges which conflicted) Map - Google Drive <- Download the 4.04 version of shields and install it.
Put this info in between the options to merge script lines inside the script merger program. You can copy past "ESGO" underneath "modshieldcombat" after you choose the B or C options for it. If you put "ESGO" first, the script merging will fail on startup. Also make sure to put modshieldcombat into a higher load order then ESGO so the function of an arrow hitting the shield with be executed before the variable (var) which ESGO taken into account.
I also find allot of problems with mods that are outdated which creates these problems for mods that are not updated to the latest version. Animation mods for combat are a typical problem to deal with in such case and VAR or } unexpected tokens will result in script failure.

Updated this mod to Game Version 4.03 , all credit goes to the original creator of this mod all i did was updating the scripts, not tested much but seem to work fine in my game

I do personally but my entire input xml somehow ended up with full asian characters and i couldnt fix it so my only option was to verify the files therefore having to update. its not a fix all solution
It seems like I have to manually install it right? I tried to install it with vortex but every time I do, I get that script compilation error and not able to start the game.
Some of the clothing doesn't actually attach to geralt it just hovers sideways wherever you equipped it. Also the hoods and helms are equipping to the torch slot, not the mask slot so you can't have a shield and helmet equipped at the same time
Can we please get a 4.04 update PLEASE? I remember asking if you would on Discord and you said you would be able to. That was earlier this year. This mod is amazing you know so it needs to be updated.
Honestly someone just needs to rip the armors from this mod and upload them as standalone, there is a witcher 2 armor mod on nexus with the armors from this mod but they are straight replacers for vanilla armor, I dont even use this mod for the shields but literally just for the cool armor that it adds, and unfortunately the shield part of this mod is what makes it break every single update. someone PLEASE upload the armors as standalone.
I hope you realize Im appreciative of the work you did with this mod, I only wrote this out of frustration after literally having to update due to a issue with the input xml, I endorsed this mod long ago and have been using it since before the next gen patch, so dont take my frustration as frustration with you personally. To be fair a mod called "No robes" doesnt exactly scream witcher 2 armor, and ive also never seen that mod in my 3 years of owning a pc and being on this nexus. Thankyou for the work you did here.
Well, for arguments sake, if its about being fair, they also prominently linked More Robes in this mod's description here (and vice versa there) with enough detail that you easily would've found it yourself already if you'd only bothered checking first. Just saying its really all one "ooops" on your end.
Need a new version for the 4.04 of the Next Gen game, version 4.03 is not working anymore. And perhaps add more new helmets like the helmets of the common soldiers to match with the armours like gambeson etc. ?

Make sure to delete the old Shield mod first. (including Robes and also delete old merges which conflicted)
Map - Google Drive <- Download the 4.04 version of shields and install it.
Put this info in between the options to merge script lines inside the script merger program.
You can copy past "ESGO" underneath "modshieldcombat" after you choose the B or C options for it.
If you put "ESGO" first, the script merging will fail on startup.
Also make sure to put modshieldcombat into a higher load order then ESGO so the function of an arrow hitting the shield with be executed before the variable (var) which ESGO taken into account.
I also find allot of problems with mods that are outdated which creates these problems for mods that are not updated to the latest version.
Animation mods for combat are a typical problem to deal with in such case and VAR or } unexpected tokens will result in script failure.

ich hab eine Frage in Bezug deines Mods auf die vanilla Funktion zur Verbesserung von Ausrüstung mit Runen Steinen.
ich habe bemerkt, das ein Master- Gegenstand durch die Aufwertung mit Runen zu einem Magic-Gegenstand wird. bzw Magic zu Relic, Relic zu Witcher, Witcher zu Normal.
kann es sein daß dein Mod das bewirkt? in irgendeiner Art?
ich habe sonst keinen Mod installiert, der auf Haltbarkeit oder Aufwertung zu greift.
die Funktion der "Perks ohne Punkte" durch deine Rüstungen scheint mir das einzige zu sein, welches in dem Bereich arbeitet.
oder kennst du diesen Fehler von anderen Mods?

Installation:
1. Download the file;
2. Extract all 3 folders to your main game's directory;
3. Correct 'dx11filelist.txt' and 'dx12filelist.txt' in 'The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc', add to the end of the files 'shieldBehavior.xml;'
4. If you have any scripts that edit r4Player.ws and ArrowProjectile.ws, merge them with the Script Merger
5. Launch the game and buy the content from the merchants.
Uninstallation:
1. Remove dlc_shields and mod_shields from the DLC and Mods folder;
2. Remove shieldBehavior.xml from /The Witcher 3/bin/config/r4game/user_config_matrix/pc/.
3. Correct 'dx11filelist.txt' and 'dx12filelist.txt' in 'The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc', Removing 'shieldBehavior.xml;'
Buy all the items from the new merchant in Vizima or the Baron's Quartermaster. If you can't see the items on either, you've installed it incorrectly.

At least it works for me, I'm always using NG 4.01 and I also made a copy of this version in pristine condition... just in case^^Don't forget to support the og creator of course.
