About this mod

This is how I imagine the game to look if gameplay were presented at this year's E3. I took inspiration from E3 2014, took some liberties of my own, and a touch of the art style from Witcher 2 and ended up with this. Hope you enjoy!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Hi everyone, I apologize but I must discontinue support for this mod.  I'm too busy with school and my channel to keep updating this mod.  I suggest the photorealistic reshade as it has a very similar color pallet as mine but overall just better in nearly every way.  If you prefer this one then I would check the recent comments in order to fix possible loading issues with the reshade.  Thanks for all the support but it's time to move on.

Just Take a Moment to Appreciate CD Projekt Red

There's a reason why they're nicknamed "The People's Developer".  16 free DLC's, a DLC that rightfully won RPG of the year... as a DLC, incredible business models and the fact that the gamers come first, full support of not only mods but modders, and this: (Source from Kotaku.com)

Tip of the hat to you CD Projekt Red.  You are true developers!

Updates in Chronological Order (New to Old)

Wiedzmin 7.6 Is Available With This Mod
Mishikedman was kind enough to give me permission to upload Wiedzmin Lighting version 7.6 which is seen in the video under the Wiedzmin Lighting portion and is found in the files section of this mod.  To install just drag and drop all the contents from the zip into your main Witcher 3 directory.

Wiedzmin 7.6 Is No Longer Available
Unfortunately, version 7.6 of Wiedzmin is no longer available on the wiedzmin mod page.  I'll see what I can do to get the owner to either re-upload it or give me permission to upload it on this page.  Of course you can still use the current version of Wiedzmin or STLM if you like it better but for the E3 look and color pallet, 7.6 is needed.  Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.

Wiedzmin Lighting Mod Video is complete
as seen in the showcases section, I have completed the showcase video utilizing Wiedzmin Lighting Mod.
I prefer WLM over STLM now and highly encourage you to try it!

Toussaint Version 3
Toussaint Version 3 went back to the original contrast of the first version and took away the sharpening.
I hope for this to be the final version of Toussaint

Toussaint Version 2

I switched monitors and noticed that the Toussaint reshade looked... bad so I made some adjustments.
Greatly reduced the contrast and took out the sharpening.  Please test out both versions and see which one you like more. Please give feedback on it and include what visual/texture mods you're using as well. I'm still not 100% sure on the Toussaint Version 1 or 2. Thanks!

Wiedzmin Lighting Mod
I actually tried the Wiedzmin Lighting mod and I really like it with this reshade.  I think I might actually prefer it.  Essenthy gave him his files for STLM and allowed him to make variations based off of it so it's rather similar to STLM.  I'd give it a go if I were you.  I'm currently using version 7.6 Ice and I'm not sure if he plans to extend it to Toussaint.  His current version does not cover Toussaint so Clear Lighting in Toussaint is compatible with Wiedzmin.

STLM 3.1.2

Essenthy released STLM 3.1.2 so if you want to try it then feel free to do so.  This version fixed a lot of bloom bugs and tweaked some lighting values.  I have not tried it yet.

E3 2017..... What?!

You saw right, E3 2017. This mod was inspired by the stylistic approach to Witcher 2 and E3 2014 gameplay footage but many liberties were taken and this is how I imagine the game to look if gameplay were to be shown at this year's E3. It is a bit more desaturated and cold but also much more stylized and vibrant much like the Witcher 2 and E3 trailers and gameplay for Witcher 3.

Showcases (Wiedzmin Lighting Mod)

For this video I am using Wiedzmin 7.6
In order to get it to look like this, download the 7.6 WIP FIX Version from the Wiedzmin mod page
and choose the Ice version with the old swamps option.
I just prefer his color selection for 7.6 as opposed to 8.0

E3 2017 Base Game + Hearts of Stone

Based off of E3 Trailers and gameplay.  The Witcher is meant to be a dark and gritty game.  I've started to play the Witcher 2 as my quest to complete the trilogy because I'm drawn in by the amazing world of the Witcher, but there's one major difference between Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 that slightly bothered me: Stylization.  I'm a person that enjoys a stylistic approach to a game as opposed to a vanilla approach.

The style that I went for this reshade was much more dark (like in the pre-release footage) and seen in previous titles.  I went with HDR to make the colors more defined and easier to work with, Cross-Fade to implement minor contrast and desaturation, sharpening to match the typical CD Projekt Red stylization and to make the details pop more, and Techicolor to give it a bit of a "cold" feeling.
Now if you're worrying about the game feeling "cold" everywhere, then you don't have to.  Areas that are meant to be, such as Novigrad and the Hearts of Stone area, are still warm and alive like they're meant to be but not too much to feel like it shouldn't be in the Witcher universe.

E3 2017 Toussaint

For Toussaint, I couldn't go off of any E3 footage but the gameplay trailer had very different lighting compared to the actual release and that was the color.  The release ended up with a very strong yellow tint to it as opposed to the trailer not having it so I wanted to recreate that.  I wanted to create more of a natural white light as opposed to the high fantasy yellow light.  I realize that I am contradicting myself by what I said in the base game section, but I felt like the "High Fantasy" feeling of Toussaint felt incredibly out of place in the"Low/Dark Fantasy" of the Witcher universe.  I took out SOME of the color but not all because I did want the exclusive feeling of Toussaint being very vibrant and alive as opposed to the rest of the swamp filled world of the Witcher.

For the style I went with a "Sun-Bleached Beach" style to Toussaint.  Heavily inspired by Sapienza from Hitman 2016.

If I get enough requests for a "cold" version then I will make one assuming that I can. Thanks!

STLM 2.2.1?

Apparently it actually looks pretty good with STLM 2.2.1 but keep in mind that clear lighting in Toussaint is not compatible with that version of STLM since it does cover Toussaint.  Here are some videos that user CPHead made to show how it looks in Novigrad and Toussaint with STLM 2.2.1

Installation

Sorry it's so long but I wanted to keep as much detail as possible to make sure nobody had problems! Thanks!

BEFORE YOU INSTALL, PLEASE UNINSTALL OTHER RESHADES BY DELETING ALL D3D11, D3D11.DLL, DXGI, AND DXGI.DLL FILES, and the Reshade-Shaders FOLDER IN YOUR EXECUTABLE Folder.

I've had a few people tell me that the reshade fails.  If this happens to you, download the newest version of reshade here and follow the instructions.

ALSO, SUPER TURBO LIGHTING MOD OR WIEDZMIN LIGHTING MOD IS REQUIRED FOR THIS MOD!! CLEAR LIGHTING FOR TOUSSAINT IS REQUIRED IF YOU USE THE TOUSSAINT VERSION OF THIS RESHADE

Wiedzmin Lighting 7.6 (as seen in the Wiedzmin video) is available to download with this mod.  Just drag and drop all the contents from the zip into your main Witcher 3 directory.

1. Manually download the "E3 2017 All in One" file.
2. (optional) extract the zip folder. It's optional because you really don't need to but some people like to extract their files.

3. Double click the Reshade setup 3.0.6 file in the zip folder. (this will open up the reshade software)

4. Click on the "Select Game" button in the middle and find your Witcher 3 exe (find the folder where you have the game installed, then open the Bin folder, then open the x64 folder and finally double click on the Witcher 3 exe).

5. Next, it'll bring you back to the reshade window and just click on Direct 3d 10+.

6. Click yes when it asks you if you want to install the shaders and then click OK when it pops up with the window with all the check boxes and then close the reshade window.

7. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! Go back to your folder where you have your Witcher 3 exe and delete the d3d11 (and d3d11.dll if you have one from a previous reshade) file and rename both the dxgi AND the dxgi.dll to d3d11 and d3d11.dll respectively. Then delete the Reshade-shaders folder (this mod uses different effects imported from reshade 2.x.x so it's important you do this)
Note: I have been told that some people don't have the d3d11 files in their game folder.  It's my understanding that CDPR may have removed them in a previous update.  If they are not there then do not worry and feel free to skip step 7.  If you do have them the d3d11 files then delete them and rename the dxgi file to be d3d11 because they will conflict with each other if you don't.  Thank you and sorry for any confusion

8. Go back to the mod zip folder and copy and paste all the files, including the reshade-shaders folder but excluding the Reshade setup, into the folder where your Witcher 3 exe is located.

9. Open Witcher 3 and you should notice a message at the top and your game should be a little slow for a few seconds (if this is happening then you can praise the sun because you did it right)

10. You might see instant changes but if you don't the press Shift+F2 (newest version of Reshade uses the home key) and this will open the reshade menu.  You'll see a red bar at the top of the menu, at this point click on the right portion where you can type something in and the type in something random, press enter, then click the drop down bar and select the version that you want.  This should trigger the reshade to come into effect.

11.  Adjust your gamma to your liking.

12. Orgasm.

If you think to yourself, "this doesn't look right" then press Shift+F2 and check to see if ALL of these effects are ticked: HDR, Cross, Technicolor, HighPassSharp (Sharpening Version Only), and LunaSharp (Sharpening Version Only), and the Toussaint version has pretty much the same effects and added a tint effect but took away the technicolor and HDR effects.

If you are missing the "Cross" effect then you installed it wrong.  Cross is an effect that is not withthe default Reshade 3.x.x but was imported from reshade 2.x.x so please re-install and be sure to pay close attention to step 7.  Thanks!

Installing Toussaint If You Have Already Installed the Base Mod

All you have to do is manually install the "Toussaint Only" file and copy and paste the Toussaint.dll file into the Witcher 3 executable folder.  Again, ONLY the Toussaint.dll file, you don't need the rest but if you do copy and paste the rest then it will still work, but you don't need to. Thanks for coming back for the Toussaint version!

How do I switch between the Reshades?

If you have both reshades installed then all you have to do is press Shift+F2 and click on the drop down menu at the top of the menu and select the one you want to use.

It has been suggested to make it a adaptive mod using the Different Reshades for Every Location mod but that is only compatible with Reshade 1.1 but I use 3.0.6 and plus there are only two reshades in this mod that are easy to switch between so it wasn't worth the time. Thanks for the suggestions!

Too Much Sharpening?

No problem, I have a version that has no sharpening that is included in the download file.  Simply just press Shift+F2 in game and choose the version you want. I chose to go with a lot of sharpening because that's how the game was presented at E3 2014 and is historically how CD Projekt Red stylizes their games.

Required Mods

-Wiedzmin Lighting Mod
-
Supreme to Extreme Graphics (not technically required but if you want it to look like the video then use this mod but be warned it will have a large toll on performance if you go past ultra)
-Clear Lighting in Toussaint (Completely compatible with STLM and Wiedzmin. All you have to do is install both either manually or with NMM and it will work fine)

In Game Settings (With Supreme to Extreme Graphics Mod)

Want your game to look exactly like the video (Wiedzmin) and screenshots (STLM)? Then use these options but keep in mind that it is very taxing on the system since the options of the game weren't meant to go this high.

- All Graphics Options set as high as they go (usually extreme) with the exception of Foliage visiblilty to ultimate and shadows to ultra.
- Ambient Occlusion on HBAO+
- Bloom - On
- Chromatic Aberration - on
- DOF - On
- Light Shafts - On
- Sharpening - High (Personal Preference)
- MipBias - 0 (having it at 0 will greatly reduce texture flickering, especially on foliage)

Performance

The reshade itself only causes a 4-5 fps drop, but the Supreme to Extreme graphics mod is a different story... but very well worth it.  Firemanaf did an AMAZING job on this mod!!

Uninstall

All you need to do is delete the d3d11, d3d11.dll, and reshade-shaders folder.

Special Thanks

-Firemanaf for creating the Supreme to Extreme graphics options mod and being a huge help and for being a very nice guy!
-Essenthy for creating the Super Turbo Lighting mod... seriously it's amazing!
-ChuckCash for making the Clear Lighting in Toussaint mod which made the Toussaint reshade possible.

-Josh for putting up with me only playing Witcher 3 and 2 for like 2 months...
