    I've uploaded another main file for the next-gen version of the game. Download and install the appropriate one for whichever version of the game you are playing.

    If you are using the next-gen version of the game you need to open the "dx12filelist.txt" file (or "dx11filelist.txt" if playing in DirectX 11) in the "Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc" folder and add "modSEC.xml;" to the end of the list. Do not forget the semicolon at the end. You can also use the mod Menu Filelist Updater to do this for you.

    If you don't do this step, you will not have a menu for this mod.

    I have a menu, but the names are wrong, and the mod does not work. What should I do?

    unfortunately this mod won;t work if you use the rune from HOS dlc

      if the weapon is buffed by runewright in HOS DLC, then this mod will not work at all

    Would it be possible to add an additional color? Like white/bright silvery?

      It may be possible, but I don't know how. I'm familiar with programming and can modify the game's scripts, but I'm not knowledgeable about adding/editing textures, models, animations, etc.

      I'm not well versed in programming, so sorry if this is a dumb question; wouldn't be possible to simply replace a line from one of the existing rune colors (lets say Strigbog the pink one), edit the section that associates that rune with the color pink and change it to white, like changing pantone colors? So changing the color of an existing texture instead of making a new one?

      Unfortunately, no. They are not just colors that I can change, they are special effects. I wish I could just change some RGB color numbers in the script like you said but I have to pick a rune effect to play instead.

    Sadly it is Impossible to merge with AMM as it does a similar thing, this one can make the swords glow even when sheethed whereas AMM only makes them glow when out, I prefer this one so much more but I can't afford to uninstall AMM as I use it for everything else.


    Any help or any ideas with be greatly appreciated.

    Is the custom number of runes setting for a visual effect or does it actually change the number of rune slots on newly generated swords?  I read some of posts from a few pages back but they didn't really answer my question (or at least I didn't pick up on it).

    Never mind.  Somehow I managed to read right past the explanation on the front page the first time I read through.  I understand now.

    I noticed that if you use the runewright's enchantments the SEC visual fx no longer appears on the sword.

    It's been a while since I downloaded it, but I left a comment because I remembered it while playing Witcher 3 again after a long time.
    This is a really cool mod.
    No matter what game I play, I value proper visuals that fit my character better than flashy, high-performance gear.
    In over 1000 hours of playing The Witcher 3, I've never put all 3 runes in. This is because the sword is too flashy and the fantasy feeling is strong.
    I always put only the 1st and 2nd steps, and I prefer orange and sky blue colors that are not too flashy and are appropriately pretty, so I had no choice but to use only two defense penetration and sign enhancement every time.
    Because of this mod, I was finally able to embed all 3 runes, and I was able to freely embed the runes that fit the characteristics the sword already had.
    If you're not rude today, I'd like to make another request.
    I hope they deal with the enchantment effect of Expansion Pack 1 as well.
    The enchantment effect of Expansion Pack 1 is much more ugly than a rune, and it feels like a cheap fantasy, so I can't stand it at all.
    If the custom work is annoying, I would appreciate it enough to just remove the effect.
    FYI I'm still playing 1.32.

    My mod isnt working properly.For some reason the rune effects are always temporary like in the vanilla version.Only the custom colours are taking effects but
    the "Always On" mode is not working.
