Weird question, maybe. But how did you get your inventory arranged like that? My Geralt is between the equipped items. Just curious. I like that arrangement much better. I asked someone else but never got a reply.

This mod could become useful again if you tweak it to put Blade Oils at the top of the useable item tab. They are now at the bottom. Not convenient at all.

Yeah, like a "Food after Oils" mod or something. I second that :)

I second this, if you make a food after oils mod I would use it in a heart beat!

I have contacted maaryu in regards to what his changes to the xml files where, and I will continue to look through them on my own to try to do exactly this.

Edit: I have managed to make the oils come just after potions with the same technique that was being utilized in this mod. The problem is that in my current implementation it will affect the "def_item_alchemy_oils.xml" file witch is something I would like to avoid since I want this to be complementary to my own mod "Everlasting Oils". However I do believe I can make it affect food items instead of oils with the same result.

In any case I will update this post again once i figure out how to make the two mods compatible.

Edit2: I have come to the conclusion that food cannot be placed lower than oils through a simple xml edit without affecting "def_item_alchemy_oils.xml", since nothing in that particular tab is set to be beneath oils. Also adding the oils property to a chicken sandwich just to test caused my computer to lock up completely, so i don't think that'll be a viable alternative. I am currently looking into changing the actual game menu ordering, however that is a bit more complicated and so might take a bit of time.

Edit3: As it turns out, the original solution of editing the types in the XML file is a no-go as it simply leads to your oil actually replacing whatever sword you attempt to apply it to. it seems the only solutions is editing a script file unless there is a harmless tag i have not thought to check. Unfortunately there is little to no documentation in this area, and there does not appear to be a simple list of tag types and priorities. The most likely candidate seems to be "inventoryMenu.ws" but with 1291 scripts to choose from, finding the correct one might take a while.

UPDATE: Idea has been implemented already in other mods like Oil Sort Order and Friendly HUD.

After 1.07 Patch this mod is redundant.
That doesn't mean this mod was awesome prior 1.07. Thank you maaryu for the mod.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Insane how such a detail didn't come with the game. We need more mods like this that fix the details and offer efficiency.

Well, it will be deprecated very soon, at 1.07 release.
But I like to think that this mod was partially responsible for upcoming inventory rework ^_^

I find it so silly things like this are overlooked in the game, nonetheless thank you for the tweak makes a big difference.

    Hi maaryu,
I've placed the .bat files (2) and the folder "books_order_files" in "content/patch0/bundles", made a backup of "patch.bundle" file,
than run "books_order_install.bat". (mod version 3)

After your mod, I've also installed "Appearance Changer - Griffin Armor into Kaer Morhen Armor" (patch 1.6) that edit the same "patch.bundle" file.

Now, the 2nd mod works well, while your doesn't work. I don't think so but can be due to the fact that both mods are editing the same file?

That would be strange, don't think that armor appearance have anything to do with files that I edited. I'll look into it.

      Thanks.
Meanwhile I've restored the original "patch.bundle" file, installed the armor mod for first and than your mod but the result is always the same. Armor mod works well, your mod doesn't work.
PS. when I run "books_order_install.bat" program says that 4 files are changed successfully... so what's wrong ?

No, there is no conflict between our mods. Maybe you get some errors during patching? And I've heard that in some cases AV-software interferes with quickbms work, but in that case you would get some error messages in console.

Oh, and please explain, what do you mean by "not working"? There is known issue with dlc maps - their position is not affected by mod. Others books/notes/maps should be listed after potions.
And did you try to install my mod alone? Is it working for you in that case?

Hi mate, I solved the problem and maybe this solution can be useful for someone else.

I've copied the "bundles" folder on desktop, run the .bat file then I overwritten the "bundles" folder in the game directory and now everything works perfectly. For some odd reason (administrator rights, I think) , in the game folder the console reported 4 files successfully imported, but the "patch.bundle" file was not modified.

Thanks for your patience and also for this great mod!

    Hello everyone.

I placed both bat files at w3 the wild hunt/content/patch0/bundles

    Then ran the install bat.

    Load the game.

    Nothing changed...

    Running v 1.05

    Thanks

And what about "books_order_files" folder? You supposed to extract all contents of the archive.

Maybe adding an "how to install" explanation on the mainpage would help us... or at least create a sticky note here in the post section!

Eh, ok, I'll add that to description. Thought "readme" section and file should be enough. Well, I guess that readme button not catchy enough...
