Wild Hunt Re-Engaged V5.1 now released (18 Aug)

I have Wiedzmin Lighting Preset to V5.1 to work with newly update Wiedzmin Lighting V7.5

    Changes:

    STLM Version- No changes
Wiedzmin Lighting Version- Adjusted colors/brightness/contrast/disabled FXAA to be used with Wiedzmin V7.5

I have also now included Adaptive, Traditional and ReShade 2.0 versions into one file. You only need to install one version. Adaptive adjusts automatically based on your location and needs the mod DifferentSFX. Traditional is one preset that applies to every area of the game. ReShade 2.0 has presets for each location but, doesn't use DifferentSFX to automatically switch presets.

Note: This uses ReShade 1.1 because DifferentSFX doesn't work with ReShade 3.0.

Please see install video on DESC page under Install Steps to see how to install. Video has been updated as of V5.0.

Thanks to Mondello90 for testing this for me prior to release.

For those that want a way to launch both DifferentSFX.exe and your Witcher3.exe with one click and have the DifferentSFX close down when you exit out of Witcher 3 feel free to use this BAT/exe file. Works great

A update for the newest version of ReShade will be very good. I know this is hard, and need a lot of work, but this mod here it's the best ReShade I can find. I use Re-Engaged in both: Skyrim SE and TW3, it's amazing.

I would love too but, need time. I have been traveling for work a lot (gone again next week) and then I need to start studying for promotion test for work. If I can find the time I for sure will. But, i hear the preset works pretty good with the newest WLM.

Edit. Oh wait. Got ahead of myself you mean to reshade 3.0+. That wont happen because differentsfx works with reshade 1.1. So it wouldnt grt presets to switch based on location. Plus 1.1 performs just fine. Granted there is no in game menu but doesnt take away from the look.

Hey man, sorry for bothering you again but; How can I manually change the options of the ReShade? The hotkeys are not working for me (just the SMAA one). Is in exaclty what folders? McFX.cfg?

Not in front of PC to give lines for you but, open location preset folder and open sweetfx config file for each location and you can make changes there. Also, I cant check to remind myself but, last version I combined effects under the one hotkey. F10 I believe. No longer does each effect have there own key.

Just to add: An update for the new Phoenix it will be awesome! The preset for WLM works pretty good indeed, but as that preset is not make for Phoenix exclusively, some things are a bit out of place. But, if you find a time to update, will be pretty cool!

You cant install reshades with the nmm. you have to install manually as per the authors instructions. with all of the witcher games tbh its easier to just install all mods manually. its not as complicated as with some games as you dont have to worry about load order.

WLM has folders that go both into the DLC and mods folder. NMM cant do that and hence why we have to manually install it.

You can try adjusting curves for each presets.

Open LocationPresets/ReShade/<location folder/sweetFx.cfg and look for

#define Curves_contrast and lower the value.

Thanks, its work, but now i got another problem. I can run Witcher 3 only 1 time per reset. If i try to run it 2nd time i got just black screen at start and nothing happens. I can see only reshade massages and can use F10 to turn it on of off.

It happens cause of mods. After i disable them all in NMM game work perfectly. When i start adding them 1 by 1 and after every mod start the game, black screen spawns. For example, when i add HQ Faces after HDRP i got black screen. When i disable HQ Faces, game start well. When i disable HDRP and add HQ Faces game start well, but when i add HDRP it cause black screen. Is Witcher 3 have limit for visual mods and how can i bypass this limit?

I have installed reshade 3.4.0, different sfx, and copied this mod's files (adaptive version) all properly. I start different sfx exe first, then The Witcher. Now how exactly do I enable *this* mod? Are you saying that I don't need to press F2 or load any ini or anything?

Follow my install video on the description page. If you would have you would know that this uses reshade 1.1 and is included in the file not reshade 3.4. Not trying to sound rude, promise. Just my install steps are there for a reason. ;-p

    Hi.....
I have two questions for you if you do not mind answering.....
Can we add borders in the reshade to have a more filmic scenery.....?
Aldo is it possible to make the shadows pop out more at night.....?
Thanks again.... i m using the adaptive wlm preset with the last phoenix along with ulm and it is a work of art.....!!!

You can enable border in the the SweetFX.cfg file. Look for #define USE_BORDER 0 and change to 1. You may have to mess with its settings and you will have to do the same to all location presets if you are using the differentSFX version.

ReShade doesn't have shadow adjustments so, you would have to mess with liftgammagain settings in the sweetFX.cfg too.

Glad to hear it is working good with the phoenix mod.

Hey firemanaf.... the more i m testing the game with your reshade & phoenix lighting the more astonished i am.....!!!
May i ask you one more thing......
Since all of your editions about wlm work more or less really good with both wlm and phoenix, would you happen to have in mind which one of the wlm reshades of re engaged give the darkest atmosphere in nights and interiors...? I m using your last release and i m really satisfied about the feeling the nights give, but if you can recall if a previous edition is more dark it would be good to let me know.....
Finally is there something to tweak to darken the nights without messing with the final outcome.....?
Thank you so much for the support......!!!!!

Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. I managed to try out the new pheonix lighting today with this. Only got to test out White Orchard and was happy with the result.

As far as nights,.sadly no you can't adjust nights without affecting days. Reshade is one setting for all time of days. Unlike ENB. I recommend using mod like darker nights if you want darker nights without messing up the reshade. If you want to mess with reshade setting look at adjusting curves slightly but that will affect day too unfortunately

No i m not changing anything...... don t want to change the balance of your work..... also i don t want to mess with phoenix so i won t use darker nights ( even though i m a big fun of this mod )..... both mods re engaged and phoenix are too good to be tweaked.......!!!!!
My main question was though if any previous versions of re re engaged, 4,1 4,2 4,3 5,0 5,1 ( i m using 6,1 ) provides any darker feeling...... i m really amazed and don t won t to tweak anything, but if something is there i d like to test it... so if you remember making any one of them any darker, please let me know.....
Thank you so much for providing all this support......!!!

I have to say with the latest Phoenix v2, daytime it look amazing.
Nights are the issue, you can notice it when you talk with the baron nighttime near the fireplace in the castle, the orange is really strong. also on Ciri cutscene near the fire (when she set up the race with the baron) the dark around her face (and all the other participants) is really wrong (not using any shadow mod).

Still, when the sun rise it really look good. Just the nights are the issue.

Sadly, with ReShade there is not separate day and night settings. But, I haven't done a lot of testing with this version of Re-Engaged with the new Pheonix mod. I probably could increase redc amount under DPX in the sweetfx config file. That may help.

Sorry i hope it didn't sound like i wanted to criticize.
Was just to give feedback about the new Phoenix and your great Reshade, so you know where to start if, in future, you want to adapt it to the new lighting mod.

Also the test was with the Wiedzmin Lighting VIII version of this reshade, i supposed that its more "close" to the new Phoenix.
But now i go give it a try with STLM version and see what happens.

      Cheers

Nope, I didn't feel that way or take in a negative way. I always appreciate feedback. Just pointing out its hard to balance days and nights with ReShade cause it is one setting for both.

It crashes with the reshade? Could it be the differentsfx mod? If you remove the differentsfx does it start? If so you need to run script merger. If it's fine it could be the reshade in which case rename the dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll and see if helps.

Currently using Re-engaged with Weidzman adaptive version, I think it is working.

But I would like to know if there is any other mod/preset or value I can edit to have a more DOF effect like this mod:

    I love DOF!!
