Before installing the mod, unequip any witcher gear, save your game. Then, install the mod, load the save you just created. Otherwise, you may get a weird bug where it shows you have negative set pieces for any witcher gear you had equipped. This happens to other mods that edits set bonuses as well, not just mine.
this worked with W3EE i can confirm .. but i dont use it now its kinda makes my build to op all in all great mod , just need to merge playerwitcher.ws and thats all
For those who are wondering, this mod works on GOTY 1.31 with Unification Patch, also managed to merge it with The Enhancement System without any problems.
just in case if someone need the witcher set bonus mod. i just re upload the mod and edit the bonus set to 1/1 and 4/4, all credits goes to the mod author
need witcher 3 version 1.30, works on version 1.31 too. if it doesn't work, try to install the Unification Patch
hey did all the procedure and still got negative set piece bug, so sorry for noob question but anyway to fix it or save is fucked? uninstalled the mod and everythign didnt seem to do anything. thanks in advance (im new with mods)
I also got the bug, but it was my fault for not reading all the directions. I was able to fix it in a few steps.
If you routinely make backups of your computer, you can uninstall the mod, make Geralt naked (no weapons or outfit), restore the Witcher 3 content folder from a backup made before you installed the mod and the negative value will go away. (Actually you only need to restore the files the mod changes, but that may not be easy for everyone). If you don't do backups of your computer, well lesson learned.
After all that I reinstalled the mod and it worked as ordered using the NG+ only version.
You dont have to do all that. Uninstall the mod. Load the last save you had without the bug. Bug should be gone.Remove all witcher gear, make a new save. Install mod.
actually you dont even need to go back on saves, just make a naked save without mod, then carry on. at least that sorta worked for me it might b bug with other mod but my armor isnt counting as a set pc. gloves boots and pants are. bow isnt either dunno if thats ever sposed too
Good idea. To make the mod somehow more complete could you also increase the number of rune slots of legendary gear, so they are not lower than grandmaster from "normal" game sets? It seems like a bug in vanilla (NG+ is actually one big bug, so that is one of them) - they didn't increase the number of rune slots after introducing granmaster sets in BaW... E.g. Cat grandmaster gloves and boots have two rune slots each, while NG+ legendary cat have one rune slot each.
I probably wont do that. I like the progression of getting better gear throughout the game. I just dont like that when you start NG+ and reacquire witcher gear again, you lose your set bonuses so I made this. It didnt make sense to me that the first few tiers of NG+ versions were actually worst than the normal game grandmaster versions.
EDIT : Just tested it, doesn't seem to work in normal game ; bonus don't appear on my Cat gears Tier 1 (I crafted the Tier 2 to be sure, but same story). Is it fine by your side ? Anyone else able to provide a feedback on it ?
EDIT 2 : I guess I found out the reason ; I do not have B&W. :/
I did the recommended "unequip / save game /install mod procedure". So I'm trying to load the normal save (not NG+, but I was intended on installing the mod now, as I'm close to finishing B&W, and then I'd start a NG+ with this mod), and the game freezes during the loading screen: it's not actually a freeze, but it goes into an "infinite load" loop. Since I'm on a dual SSD RAID setup, the game loads up in just a few seconds (less than 10), and as soon as I put this mod in the folder, the game doesn't load at all. If I remove the mod, the problem disappears. I don't know if it's related to mod conflict, which is plausible, since I use other mods that changes weapons, like weapons and armors that scale with the player level, and another one that removes the level requirement for most weapons and armors, so that might be the case (although script merger doesn't find any conflicts. I know this mod does not involve actual scripts, but I'm also aware that script merger detects conflicts even in texture mods, like if 2 mods are trying to modify the same texture). Another one is that it just may not work with savegames that are not NG+ saves (there's no mention of it in the description, so I thought I could just leave the mod in the folder, and it would start working as soon as I'd start a NG+... not the case it seems. Just posting this to inform the author, and other users that might run into the same problem.
Mod works with anything. All it is just a few xml line additions. If you're getting inifnite loading screen, you are over some limit. Try loading the mod by itself.
You are correct, my friend. It seems I went over the limit with the "texture" mods (meaning, all the mods that don't use ".ws" script files). I have no idea what the limit is. I'm aware you can "merge" texture mods altogether, but I've no idea how to do it. Dang... Anyways, thanks for the heads up mate!!
