About this mod

Replaces the vanilla named mutagen effects with more varied effects.

Permissions and credits
Named mutagens now have their own special effects instead of being useless versions of lesser mutagens. (Unfortunately, due to restrictions on exactly what effects are allowed on mutagens, some effects are shared. As I fiddle around more, I may find workarounds or other effects I can use.) Note that this is a WIP (work in progress), so there are limitations, such as the fact that named mutagens are now unaffected by synergy bonuses. In light of this, mutagen effect values have been slightly increased in v1.1; they will be lowered once (if) I figure out how to apply the synergy effect.

I have not had the chance to rigorously test the mod, so if you find anything odd, or simply wish to note a personal opinion (ie. values are too high/too low), please give feedback.

Arachas:          10% physical resistances
Basilisk:         7.5% chance to poison*
Chort:            10% physical resistances
Cockatrice:       7.5% chance to poison*
Doppler:          7.5% chance to stun*
Earth Elemental:  10% resistance to DoTs*
Ekhidna:          7.5% chance to freeze*
Ekimma:           7.5% crit damage bonus
Fiend:            10% physical resistances
Fogling:          7.5% chance to stun*
Forktail:         7.5% chance to bleed*
Grave Hag:        10% resistance to DoTs*
Gryphon:          7.5% chance to bleed*
Leshen:           10% elemental resistances
Katakan:          15% crit damage bonus
Nekker Warrior:   10% focus gain
Noonwraith:       7.5% chance to burn*
Succubus:         7.5% chance to stun*
Troll:            +3 health regen / +1.5 combat regen
Nightwraith       7.5% chance to freeze*
Water Hag:        +3 health regen / +1.5 combat regen
Werewolf:         15% crit damage bonus
Wraith:           7.5% crit chance
Wyvern:           7.5% chance to bleed*

*Does not show up in character pane.

Compatibility:
Incompatible with any other mod that modifies def_item_ingredients.xml


Known Issues:
  • color-matching (synergy) bonuses are not applied to named mutagens
  • empty skill slots act like color-matched slots for named mutagens (does not affect values in character pane, just skill window)
  • some mutagens (marked above) do not seem to apply their effects when checked in the character pane (further testing required to see if this is just UI or they are actually not working)
