I can't get this to work with next gen version. Edited the INI file, just as instructed, even downloaded the dll files mentioned in other posts, and still nothing. I don't know what else I can do.
for some people they may also need to go to Documents\The Witcher 3\dx12user.settings and add DBGConsoleOn=true below [General] also below general in the bak file? not sure if u need that but it didnt destroy my game so i guess if the normal one alone doesnt work add it to the bak aswell. also for those using notepad++ u need to close the window in notepad++ and choose to save it, at least i needed to before it applied the changes ingame:P
Very wise answer :rolleyesevenmore: 1. For some people it just doesnt work... 2. Also you may be not able to think this is possible but there are plenty of people out there who not use the US layout of keyboards, therefore your "tip" is effectively useless.
My Witcher 3 NG came with the console already enabled (as per the method above). Found the activation key on my UK English keyboard by trial and error, it turned out to be ' If your key board is another language just try the suggested keys first then all the other ones till you find it.
FUNCIONA PARA CUALQUIER VERSION 17/07/2023 Para los de habla hispana, no necesitan descargar este mod, aunque no traiga virus ustedes mismos pueden activar el debug con la siguiente linea de comandos, solo deben hacer lo siguiente:
1. ir donde tienen guardado el juego (Con el juego cerrado por cierto) por defecto suele ser: C:ArchivosDePograma(x86)\steam\\steamapps\common\The Witcher3\bin\config\base
2. presionar sobre general y abrir con el block de notas y solo hay que agregar lo siguiente: General D B G C o n s o l e O n = t r u e C o n f i g V e r s i o n = 5 Como podrás observar solo debes agregar la linea 2, pero todo junto.
3. guardas el archivo, asi nada más, no a guardar como, solo presionar guardar.
4. cierra el gestor de archivos, y abre el juego, al entrar presiona f2 y luego ingresa a tu partida, una vez dentro presiona la tecla ñ y listo, con esa letra abres y cierras la consola de trucos del the witcher 3, de nada.

Get into the game’s folder on your PC and navigate to :\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base
Open the ‘general.ini’ file in the base folder with your prefered text editor.
Add Line #3 in the photo. (I tried typing the line in this post, for some reason it gets mangled)
Save the ‘general.ini’ file and load up the game.
Now the ` key will open the console (I'm on US kb, I don't know if it's different for other layouts)
I am playing the newest game version (next gen dx 12) from GoG and this works fine.
