ok. got this to work on 1.31 goty. so if anyone want this work: compare r4Player.ws from this mod with your merged (don't auto-merge theese!) find any "NoSaveLock" entities and you'll see what needs to comment (by "//") in ur merged file.
What SilentWarrior is saying is to open up your r4Player.ws file, probably in your merge folder, and modify it. Don't try to merge SovTempest's mod with your existing mods. You'll wind up with a script hiccup to track down.
Find these four commands and modify them by inserting "// " immediately in front of "theGame." (without quotes): theGame.ReleaseNoSaveLock(deathNoSaveLock); theGame.CreateNoSaveLock( 'combat', noSaveLock ); theGame.ReleaseNoSaveLock( noSaveLock ); theGame.CreateNoSaveLock("Finisher",finisherSaveLock,true,false);
What they should look like after editing: // theGame.ReleaseNoSaveLock(deathNoSaveLock); // theGame.CreateNoSaveLock( 'combat', noSaveLock ); // theGame.ReleaseNoSaveLock( noSaveLock ); // theGame.CreateNoSaveLock("Finisher",finisherSaveLock,true,false);
I left in the TABs in front of the "//" for looks (in Notepad++), but in or out they'd be okay. The above works with v1.32. BTW, I'm still interested in figuring out how to save during dialogue, should anyone have a solution.
Any idea why this might not work in the battle of Kaer Morhen? I tried both this mod and what you wrote in the comments (change entries manually), but none of this works. It allows you to save in normal battles, but not in the battle for Kaer Morhen.
Tried to run it on 1.31 (non-GOTY), but Script Merger returned a couple of unsolvable conflicts with other mods.
I am unable to interpret the detailed error messages in Script Merger, but the only mods that it wanted to merge (and without this mod here the merges are being created just fine) are:

It's not doing anything for me either. I think the newest patch broke it Anyone get it working? I'm new to the mod community around here and I can't believe how many mods are out of date or don't work. Used to having it easy with bethesda.
I can confirm that this mod works with patch 1.12.1 and HoS. The mod is updated and works with patch 1.21 If it is good it also works on patch 1.22 because CDPR has not updated the file.

I Have to save everytime :p
I am currently in the quest "Family Matters" and i have spared the miscarried son.
Then there comes no checkpoint and i can't manually save ("You can not save right now" or something), not even in the fight against the wraiths.
So i thought maybe your mod could help but no

So, i figured it out.
Seems so, that you can't save during specific quests.
After this quest was done, saving my game was no problem anymore.
But tbh, this is odd :/
