Really good job! It's coming along quite nicely. Sure did pick a difficult place to start for your first mod. I have been considering making samurai armor of some sort. I would like to model the armor from the Ronin statue that they did of Geralt but I have no idea how to get armor into the game. I made two custom katanas with saya for the Witcher 3. I am assuming that the armor is along the same lines as the scabbard. So like you I spent a lot of time deep-diving into tutorials that were out of date or not there anymore and that was just for a weapon. I think trying to do armor would be soul-crushing. So I give you a lot of props.
Thanks I definitely appreciate it! The ronin statue and some of the early concept art of it really intrigued me too and inspired me to want to try to put something like it in-game! About getting things into the game though, I’d assume weapons and armor have a somewhat similar process, so you might be more equipped to tackle it than you think. Overall it’s definitely a lengthy process, but that’s partly because I go through quite a bit of trial and error lol. If you need any help or have questions don’t be afraid to ask someone here! I’m no expert but I’ll help where I can and there’s some really helpful people still creating here so you can’t go wrong with asking for some advice! (I certainly did)
Thanks! Still working on getting the meshes right and getting the textures to display correctly, but once I have all that worked out I believe different color versions would be nice!
