Poor dog may have his rivers of bacon and 72 cats to chase, but the lie by omission was those cats are all tigers

Perfectly done, the way you jumped to the rose after Iris said she new what was cursed. I think you're ready to direct your first Hollywood movie -- your scripts are already better than most of the garbage coming from there of late.(Darn, I was holding out for a deep sea adventure in search of the anchor with Leviathans and Krakens . Come to think of it, an astute reader should have figgered it out that it was the rose.)

Beautifully done! Being Buddhist for me, I've been able to use it like a tool to realize, elevate and grow as a person. The concept of life and death, is of Chi (manifestation) and Ku (dormancy) or that death is considered just the dormant phase of life (like sleeping). Everything is cause and effect. When conditions are right, the wave appears on the ocean surface, travels a distance, then as it's energy dissipates, returns to the ocean. (the water that made it up is still there but unseen. The senses only perceive what's on the surface (one wave can 'see' and be affected by another wave.)

I'm a little slow on the uptake , but I realized shortly after the last set the anchor had to be the rose. In many ways this is a happier ending for Iris. Certainly the dog was excited about cats and bacon....he might be related to my mutt, except mine has always enjoyed cats....other than when they try to share his food bowl. Nice ending on this chapter, Beth.
