I'm looking forward to the patch more than the DLC. I want a more stable, less buggy game first and then talk about added content. My system greatly exceeds what they ask for. It needs to play without locking up or crashing.
The thing is I haven't really enjoyed the previous DLCs much. I think they could do a much better job with them, but I know I'll buy each one that comes down the pike no matter what. They should study what people add through MODs and then do something beyond that.
I guess I'm the sucker-for-add-ons they're looking for.
Zion Canyon looked authentic but I found myself on quests that really didn't interest me. I did them merely because I didn't know a way out of doing them. I was in a canyon where I could not return to the wasteland until I carried out tasks that were, for the most part, meaningless to me. The decisions made there do not affect the rest of the game, so it doesn't matter what choices I make in Zion.
The so-called scouts never led me anywhere I wanted/needed to go. What good are scouts that cannot lead the way?
I've seen nothing in the DLCs that make me want to keep replaying them. I got through them much faster than advertised as well, which means they have an even shorter shelf-life than I wanted.
I think I buy them because people make MODs based on them and I want as big and varied a game world as possible.
I don't like being locked into quests instead of doing them at my own pace. When I am offered one I should be able to go right after it and do the thing or wander some more, completing higher-priority stuff before tackling the new task. In Dead Money that's not possible and in Honest Hearts it's not practical.
Let's see what the MODders do with the new DLCs to make them worth buying. New Vegas Nexus is what saves the DLCs from being a total waste of money burning in a Wasteland campfire. They should get a kickback from Bethesda for helping sell the game and the DLCs.
I completely agree with you gunslinger6792. While I thoroughly enjoyed Dead Money, the hours of possible replay value were just thrown away. Same with HH, you've got a huge canyon to explore after the main quest, but nothing to do while you're there. Hope the next two DLCs don't follow in suit.
The only DLC I'm really looking forward to is 'Lonesome Road' and only because I wanna know what's up with Ulysses. Hopefully they'll make the Divide look epic rather than some patch of dirt you can find anywhere in the wasteland. *Cough* That aside, hopefully there aren't too many bugs in this one.

I decided to input 50000 .50 MG inc in a box for my anti-material rifle, and got an immediate drop in fps when I went back to game.

I'm not holding my breath for anything, though I do hope they can get this done right.
Never fear, Yukichigai's here!
