About this mod

These files contain a basic level with Foltests castle in Wyzima from The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. It provides a basic quest file, area environments, partitions, streaming and all the assets you need to further decorate the castle as you wish. To use the files you must have the Redkit installed; paste the files in the data folder of the Witcher 2.

What it is

This mod/these files are no playable level they are just a basic world, which you can use to create your stories.

What it contains

The world is sized 1200*1200 square meters that you have enough space to build and change your world as much as you like. You can readjust the world size as you like. The only thing that is affected by that are the ground textures in the garden, which you have to repaint after chaning the worldsize.
The castle was built using imported assets and textures form the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and some textures from The Witcher 1. These assets have been imported with JLouisB Witcher File Converter and some assets got tweaked a little bit.

- new textures and a new room have been added.
- the castle uses basic streaming, partitions and ocluders to ensure better performance.
- basic environments and  two world environments (sunny and rainy) have been added.
- the skybox is based on the Lykaon skybox.
- some parts of the castle have been decorated and more asserts are provided to decorate it as you like
- sound area are provided with the music from the prolog as music project name but battleCues have not been added yet

Explanations

The folder structure tries to be clear, though some technical meshes (eg. shadow mesh) have been put into the garden layers. The layers represent areas and are further seperated into a layer for the surrounding walls, floors etc. (visible static meshes) , layer for decoration, a layer for decal meshes and for templates. I would advice to work like that because it a makes troubleshooting and detecting problems easier.
The meshes and templates are most of the time named with an explaining name and numbered systematically from right to left or the other way around.
The interiror enviroment is a tweaked Witcher 2 environment, between Yenns room and the garden are also streaming doors so adding streaming and partitions should be possible. The windows are built with several layers to achieve the present look. Don't delete it if you just dislike it before you understand the method used.
I also advice to not get rid of the streaming using the black loading screen, without the transitions between the partitions the environments are quite noticable.Because streaming is added you can't play "On Current Layers only" (Controller with green hook). Everytime you want to use a
streaming door you get a black screen. You must click  play Game, the other button to play the game ( controller without green hook).
I tried my best to give the castle the same look as in the Witcher/ Witcher 3 but because of technical limitations eg. no vertex paiting for decals it won't look exactly the same.

How to use it?

I you want to use it you must have the Redkit installed and paste the files in the Witcher 2 data folder. (For those of you who like to use a hidden folder (makes it just more complicated and I don't advice to do it if you are not familiar with the pros and cons of it) you can paste all files except the level into username/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files (x86)/the witcher 2/data.)
To work on it just load the whole world, then you can unload streaming_garden and streaming_inside to not bother with ocluders that have been placed for streaming. If you want to work on that later just save it as layer preset.

I have problems/It does not work!

Just ask and I will try to answer but keep in mind that I won't check it that often. You could also go to the Official Witcher Forums and ask there if you have questions about modding with the Redkit. You can find me there under my other nickname Nemomallo and write me.

Will you create an adventure/ will you add more content?

I have no plans to create/import something simmilar for the witcher 2 or add a story but to give you some ideas you could use this level to recreate the fight between the first assassin and Geralt and tell a small story. If you still think you have not enough assets to create your world you can find more assets (soon) here. The files provided there (will soon) contain the files here so if you want to use both I advice you to get the big Witcher 3 Meshes for the Redkit package. Becasue of it's size it will be separated into textures and meshes, and other entities. Some of those files are still old and still don't inculde a collision mesh but I simply had no time/urge to update them but manny other new meshes have been added and some old have been improved.
Last but not least I will try to upadte it if I think the base files got improved and I will add a downloadable mod that you can play in the base game that you can just take a quick look at the level without using Redkit.

Who to credit

First I would like to thank CDPR for The Witcher/The Witcher 2/the Witcher 3, than JLouisB without his tool this would have not been possible. Benzenzimmern who provided the raw files of his Lykaon Mod. HalkHoganPl for his HD Reworked Project and the possibility to use some of his work and as Redkit asset ( in detail look at the credits) and Hub997 for the possibilty to use his upscaled textures of the The Witcher and the The Witcher 2. If you create your own story/project it would be nice to be credited by you!
